1. Pupils listen to an audio : On Holiday


2. Pupils pay attention to the vocabulary in the song.

Activity 4. Pupils watch a YouTube clip on simple past tense.
5. Pupils complete Wordwall Quizzes regarding activities done during a holiday and simple past
tense.

Appendix 1
Seat Switch Game

a. Arrange chairs in a circle and ask pupils to sit down.


b. Stand in the middle of the circle.
c. Ask pupils questions using the vocabulary learnt in the
previous lesson. E.g. Did you eat fish? Did you go
swimming?
d. Pupils have to answer yes or no.
e. All pupils who answer yes will have to get up and change
seats.
f. The pupils that answer no remain seated.
g. Do that a couple of times.
h. The third time you ask a question, while the pupils that
answered yes are switching seats, quickly sit in one of the
empty seats.
i. The pupil left standing has to take your place in the middle of
the circle and ask the questions in the next round.
Appendix 2
Snap Game

a. Pupils use their cut-ups pictures from Activity 2.


b. Divide pupils into pairs.
c. Each pupil shuffles his/her flashcards and places them on
the desk face-down.
d. Student A begins the game by revealing one card and
placing it in the middle.
e. The pupil has to say the word depicted on the card.
f. Pupil B continues the game by placing one of his/her cards
on top.
g. If the cards are the same, the first pupil to cover the pile of
cards in the middle with his/her hand and call out Snap!
takes them.
h. The pupil who collects the most cards is the winner.
