MENSURATION (2D)

 Radius of incircle of a triangle of area (A) and semi-perimeter (S) = A/S

 Area of a parallelogram = base x height

 Area of a rhombus = ½ x (product of diagonals)

 Area of a trapezium = ½ x (sum of parallel sides) x distance between them

 Area of circle = πr2

 Circumference of circle = 2πr

MENSURATION (2D)

 Median: It is the line joining the mid-point of a side of a triangle to the

opposite vertex.

 Centroid: point where the three medians meet. Centroid divides each of
the medians in the ratio 2 : 1.

 In an isosceles triangle, altitude from the vertex bisects the base.

 Median of a triangle divides it into two triangles of same area.

 Area of triangle formed by joining mid-points of sides of a given triangle is

one-fourth of area of the given triangle.

 Diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.

MENSURATION (2D)

 Each diagonal of a parallelogram divides it into two triangles of the same

area.

 Diagonals of a rectangle are equal and bisect each other.

 Diagonals of a square are equal and bisect each other at right angles.

 Diagonals of a rhombus are unequal and bisect each other at right angles.

 A parallelogram and a rectangle on the same base and between same

parallels are equal in area.

 Of all the parallelograms of given sides, the parallelogram which is a

rectangle has the greatest area.
