to confirm their identity and ensure that it matches the details shown below.

Work entitlement conditions

8105
8105 - Work restriction:

This condition means you cannot work in Australia before your course starts unless at the time of applying for this visa, you
held another visa that permitted you to work in Australia.

You also cannot work more than 48 hours a fortnight when your course of study or training is in session.

The 48 hours a fortnight work limit does not apply if:

- you engage in work that was specified as a requirement of the course when the course particulars were entered into
the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students; or
- you hold a student visa granted in relation to a masters degree by research or doctoral degree and you have
commenced the masters degree by research or doctoral degree.

A fortnight means the period of 14 days starting on a Monday.

On 9 May 2023 the Government temporarily removed the working hour limit for student visa holders already working in the
aged care sector. This measure only applies to work in the aged care sector and will end on 31 December 2023.

Understanding your work rights

We are working with the Fair Work Ombudsman to help employees and employers understand and follow Australian
Workplace laws. All people working in Australia have rights and protections at work.

For information on pay rates, shift calculations, leave arrangements and notice and redundancy entitlements see Pay and
Conditions Tool (PACT).

The Fair Work Ombudsman website has more information on workplace rights and entitlements, see visa holders and migrant
workers.
