1.0 PURPOSE & SCOPE

The procedure is written to comply with the requirements of the PYRAMID Construction
Company Limited Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy which specify that the
Company is committed to ensuring balancing energy usage, to help reduce energy
consumption and cost.

This plan covers the requirements to control usage, and efficient consumption of energy
on our facilities and sites.
2.0 DEFINITIONS AND ABBREVIATIONS

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 HSEQ Manager
• Act as interface with energy management authorities.
• Ensure compliance with regulations procedure through regular audits.
• Ensure awareness of energy use and regulatory requirements amongst company,
subcontractors and contractors’ personnel.

3.2 Department Managers and Section Heads


• Comply with regulatory requirements for efficient usage of energy at our facilities and
on site.
• Maintain a record of all energy use.
• Conduct regular compliance audits.

4.2 Energy Sources

4.2.1 Energy sources been utilized at our facilities and on site are classified into
Renewable sources from the use of electrical energy.
Non-renewable sources from the use of petroleum products.

4.2 Energy Saving Strategies


As a measure to ensuring an efficient use and a culture of saving energy and avoiding
wastage, PYRAMID Construction shall adopt the following strategies:

1. Enforcing lights-off and power-off policies


2. Use lower wattage bulbs in non-critical areas.
3. Use of ‘energy star’ electrical devices and equipment on our sites.
4. Eliminating energy loss by regular maintenance of equipment and machines.
5. Leveraging on natural lighting and renewable energy sources.

4.3 Record keeping


4.3.1 HSEQ Manger shall identify all energy sources that are being used on our sites and ensure
records of usage.

4.4 Employee Involvement


4.4.1 It is within the PYRAMID Constructions HSE policy to "Involve and consult employees and,
where appropriate, their representatives." PYRAMID constructions will:
• Encourage employees to suggest ways of improving the consumption of energy through
the safety awareness program and HSE Meetings/Committees.
• Train employees on the implementation of this procedure as outlined in the strategies of
saving energy.
• Involve employees in audits of this system.
• Make available for review and comment on the yearly energy report.
