HAWKER 800 STRUCTURAL REPAIR MANUAL

1. GENERAL
Damage to the radome moulding may be considered allowable where, in the form of abrasions, scores or
scratches which do not penetrate the first lamination of glasscloth, provided there is no delamination or
tendency towards sponginess and the radome is thoroughly cleaned and dried out, and the damaged area
treated with two even coats of Araldite AY103 resin mixture followed by touch-up of the final paint scheme. A
brushed coat of sealant PR1422 Type A may be applied as a temporary alternative to the coats of resin and
paint.
The following may be considered allowable:
 The radome can be missing the top coat of paint and primer layer, provided a minimum 50 percent
of the area missing the top coat of paint and primer layer still has the Conductive P-Static paint
(PR-934) intact.
 The erosion boot may be missing (Note: Flying without an erosion boot must be kept to a minimum
and it should be replaced as soon as possible to reduce the possibility of damage to the radome).
