In Master of Business Administration only theoretical knowledge isn’t enough for achieving the entire

Driven by a vision to build the company into “A Temple of Technology” Jyoti was established in 1989
and today it is one of the largest multinationals. Since inception company has grown manifold from
manufacturing gear boxes for machines to developing precision all-geared head lathe machines. Later
on, Jyoti has rightly identified shift from conventional machines to highly sophisticated CNC machines.

Jyoti was the first company to manufacture CNC machines in Gujarat. It was not an end, there are many
firsts attached with Jyoti since then. The company has a wide product basket consisting of series of CNC
Turning Center, CNC Turn Mill Center, CNC Vertical Machining center, CNC Horizontal Machining
Center, CNC Vertical Line Machines and High-tech CNC 3 axis and 5 axis machining center.

After the opening up of the Indian Economy, there were great challenges present for Indian companies
but Jyoti converted all challenges into great opportunities. Jyoti has even decided to compete at the
global level and started exporting CNC machines by establishing distribution networks in various
continents around the globe.

Jyoti has clocked a trajectory growth since its inception. The company is passionate about its business,
but is also living the life of a true corporate citizen taking care of each and every entity affiliated to it
directly or indirectly.

Company has three different plants located at GIDC, Metoda, RAJKOT – Gujarat, having a present plant
capacity of manufacturing 3000 machines p.a. equipped with world class infrastructure like state of art
machine shops with latest and technologically advanced plant and machineries, Assembly Shops,
Foundry, Sheet Metal, Paint shop and other allied infrastructure.

Jyoti caters the machines to Automobile, Aerospace, Allied Machinery, Agriculture, Die & Mould,
Jewellery, Medical Equipment, Plastic Machineries, Power and Textile Machinery.

Jyoti is having technology centers at Rajkot, and has its sales and service branches in all the major cities
of India.

We select the organisation for our project is Jyoti CNC Automation Ltd. Machines.
This is a limited company.

Explanation:

Nature of Process Design:

Jyoti CNC Automation Limited is follow Cellular process.
Cellular process is hybrid of job shop and line flow.
The basic production environment remains that of a job shop.
A few specific equipment’s are taken out from their respective departments, and are arranged in a
line flow.

 PROCESS

1. First of all purchase department purchase raw material including Casting from the outside. Till they are
having fully inside production facility.

2. All kind of machining is done in this stage. Workers are doing Productions under the supervision of
supervisor. At this stage, work of Fabrication and work of powder coating are done.

3. After production, all goods are going for 1st stage inspection. Once they get approval, it’s going for
assembly.

4. Here all the parts are assembling which are purchased and which are produced both.

5. And at last quality controller check the quality of machine and at last its dispatch department firstly do
work of packaging and then its Dispatched.

The Key Features of the Production:

The production is done with high volume.

There is a requirement of large inventory management as the production is carried out in bulk.
There will be one type of machinery used for all the process just the methods may change a bit
with ever product. The product, tools, material are standardized.
Production is done on anticipation on demand.
Any fault in flow of production than it may have to stop the process to avoid the mistake

 PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

The process of developing a new product using a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine typically
involves the following steps:

Concept and Design: The development process begins with the creation of a concept or design for the
product. This can involve sketching, modelling, or other forms of prototyping.

CAD/CAM: The design is then translated into a digital format using computer-aided design (CAD)
software. This design is then processed using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software to generate
the necessary toolpaths for the CNC machine to follow.

Programming: The CAM software outputs a program, often in the form of G-code, that is loaded into the
CNC machine's control system. This program tells the machine how to move its cutting tool to create the
desired product shape.

Material selection: The material to be used for the product is selected, taking into account factors such
as cost, strength, weight, and desired finish.

Machine setup: The CNC machine is set up with the appropriate cutting tool and work holding fixtures,
and the material to be machined is positioned and secured.

Machining: The CNC machine is then used to produce the product, following the toolpaths generated by
the CAM software.

Quality control: After the product has been machined, it is subjected to quality control checks to ensure
that it meets the desired specifications and tolerances.

Finishing: If necessary, the product may undergo further processing, such as sanding, polishing, or
painting, to achieve the desired finish.

Final Inspection: The finished product is inspected one last time to ensure that it meets all specifications
and is ready for shipment.
