1. English and/or French placement tests
When: early May
English and French are compulsory subjects in any CEGEP DEC program. Since there are various streams of English and French
courses, an English and/or a French Placement Evaluation are/is required. Please refer to the document Placement Test -
Registration and Results in your online ‘Admission Package’ for full instructions.
2. Determine your Quebec residency status for fee purposes
When: starting April 14 (personal submission date)

If you are born in Quebec, you do not have to complete this step and no action is required.

The Ministry of Education of Quebec requires students who were not born in Quebec to qualify for Quebec Residence status in
order to be exempt from paying additional tuition fees. Please refer to the ‘Determination of your Quebec residence status’ in your
online ‘Admissions package’ to know what documents are required to be submitted before (your personal submission date). If you
do not complete and submit your required documents you will be charged non-Quebec resident fees (approx. 1780$ per semester).

Your Graduation Requirements Profile will indicate what courses you must complete term by term in order to graduate from your
program. This document is available in your My Dawson portal: look on the left-hand menu Go to MyDawson → My Omnivox

path to graduation. In addition to successfully completing all of the courses listed, you must pass the English or French
Exit Test, which is offered once per semester on a specific date, and the comprehensive examination for your program.
Note that courses proposed (i.e. that you must take) for next semester are shaded in pink.
5. Indicating your preferred Specific Education courses (*see below):
When: mid-May
Please refer to the above item - Graduation requirements Profile (Progression Chart). On the chart, you will see if Options need to
be selected. Please read this carefully and if this situation applies to you, you will receive further instructions by email about how
