3. Cellular phones and any unauthorized materials are not allowed in the
examination
4. All writing must be in blue or black ink except for diagrams which must be in
pencil
5. Each question carries 25 marks
6. Write your examination number on every page of your answer sheets

1. You have been provided with the specimen A and B. Observe them carefully and then answer the
following questions.
a) What are the roles of external features observed in both specimens?
b) Name the type of germination exhibited by specimen A and B.
c) From the named type of germination exhibited by specimen A and B, list other
two (02) Seeds which undergoes the same type of germination in each of them.
d) Use knife or scalpel cut Longitudinal section (L.S) of specimen A to obtain two
equal halves.
i. Draw a well labeled diagram of it to show all important parts in one of the
halves of specimen A
ii. State the functions of each part you have labeled in diagram in (i) above.
e) What conditions necessary for germination of specimens A and B.
f) State the role (s) of the conditions you stated in (e) above.

2. Observe the provided specimens C, D and E. Then answer the question that follows.
a) Identify the specimens C, and D by their common names.
b) Classify the specimens C, D and E to class level.
c) What are the roles of specimen C and D where originated (in four)?
d) State one common difference between specimen C and D.
e) Study specimen E carefully and then answer the questions below.
i. Give the common name of the specimen E.
ii. Draw a well labeled diagram of a specimen E.
iii. What are the economic importance of division in which specimen E
belongs (Give four points)
