September 7th: A Special Day for Brazil

Do you know what happens every year on September 7th in

Brazil? It's a very special day called "Dia da Independência,"
which means Independence Day!

A long time ago, before 1822, Brazil was not its own
country. It was controlled by another country called
Portugal. Just like how kids grow up and want to make
decisions for themselves, Brazil wanted to be independent
and make its own choices.

So, on September 7th, 1822, a man named Dom Pedro I

stood near the Ipiranga river and shouted "Independência ou
Morte!" which means "Independence or Death!" And just like
that, Brazil started its journey to become its own country.
Every year on this day, Brazilians celebrate with parades,
music, and colorful events. The green and yellow colors of
the Brazilian flag can be seen everywhere, and people show
their pride in their country.

It's like a big birthday party for Brazil! So if you ever find
yourself in Brazil on September 7th, don't forget to join in
the fun and celebrate Brazil's special day!

Remember, every country has its own story of becoming

independent, and September 7th is the day Brazilians
remember and celebrate their story.
