Jazam (Sukoon)
In part one lesson, the leaner has already been taught words with Harakaat (Zabar/ Zer /Pesh). Now he
has to learn how to join the letters with a Jazm/ sukoon. It must be made clear to the learner that a
Jazm/ sukoon joins two letters. The Jazm/ sukoon will appear on the second letter only.

The Khara Zabar (Fatha Muqaddarah) is in place of a Zabar and Alif. The Khara Zer (Kasra Muqaddarah) is in place of
the Zer and Yaa. The Ulta Pesh (Dhamma Muqaddarah) is in place of Pesh and a Waw.

‫‪LESSON 16‬‬ ‫‪Madd‬‬ ‫ﺳﺒﻖ ‪۱۶‬‬
‫‪The difference of the two Madds should be taught in this lesson. The shape of the long Madd is‬‬ ‫ٓ◌‬ ‫‪and‬‬
‫‪the short Madd is‬‬ ‫ۤ◌‬ ‫‪. When these appear on a letter, the sound of that letter must be lengthened.‬‬

‫ٰۤﻳﺎٰ َد ُم ﻟِ َ€ ُﺴ ْٓﻮ ٗء‬ ‫ﺖ ﻧِ َﺴﲝ ٓ ًء‬ ‫ﺳ ِﺌﺤ ٍ‬
‫ٰۤﻫﺎ َ ْﻧ ُﺘ ْﻢ ٰا َﺗ ْ€ َﻨﺎ ۤ ٰا َل‬ ‫َﻳ ْﺴ َﺘ ْﺤ ٖ ۤﻲ ا َ ْﻫﻠ َ ۤ ٗﻪ‬

‫‪LESSON 17‬‬ ‫‪Silent Letters‬‬ ‫ﺳﺒﻖ ‪۱۷‬‬
‫‪In this lesson the learner should be taught that there is no sound of a letter that has no Harkat (Zabar/‬‬
‫‪Zer /Pesh) on it, though it is written, that letter must not be read.‬‬

‫ﻓَ ْﻦ َو ْ‬
‫ال َو ْل‬ ‫ﻓَ ْ‬
‫ﺎن‬ ‫ف ﻟ َْﻒ‬ ‫ﻓَﺎ ْد ﻓَ ْﺪ ﻻ ْ‬

‫ٰل َﺷ ْ‬ ‫ٰﱃ‬ ‫ﺎل ِﺑ ْﻞ ﻗًﺎ ًق‬ ‫ِﺑ ْ‬

‫ا َ ٰﰉ ُﻫ ٰﺪى‬ ‫َﺑ ٰ|‬ ‫َﻣ ٰﱴ ِر ْزﻗًﺎ ﻋ َٰ|‬
‫ٰا ٰوى ﻓَﺎ ْﻧ َﻔ َﺠ َﺮ ْت‬ ‫ﻓَﺎ ْد ُ◌ﻉ ﻟَ َﻨﺎ ﻓَﺎ ﻟْ ٰﺌ َﻦ‬

‫َﻧ ّٰﻆ‬ ‫َﺳ ّٰﻮ‬ ‫اَ ُ‬


‫ﷲ‬ ‫ا َ ّٰل‬ ‫ا َ َّل‬
‫ﻓَﻠِﻠّٰ ِﻪ‬ ‫¸‬ ‫ِ ّٰ ِ‬ ‫ﻟَ ّٰﻖ‬ ‫َﻋ ّٰﻦ‬ ‫ﻟِ ّٰﺪ‬
‫َ َ ّٰ ُ ۡ ُ ّٰ‬
‫الل ُهمَّ‬ ‫ﻓَ َﺘﻠ َ ّٰ‪ ¹‬ﻓَ َﺴ ّٰﻮ ُﻫ َّﻦ لعنهم ق ِل‬
‫ﺖ‬ ‫ﲔ َﺑ ِﻞ ا ٰدّ َر َك اَﮐ ّٰﻠ ُْﻮ َن َﺟ ّٰﻨ ٍ‬ ‫اﻟﻈﻠِ ِﻤ ْ َ‬ ‫ِﻣ َﻦ ّٰ‬
‫ِﻛ َّﻨ ْﻞ‬ ‫َﻣ َّﺴ ْﺖ‬ ‫َر َّﺷ ْﻢ‬ ‫ﻋَﻠ َّ ْﻢ‬
‫َ‬ ‫ۡ‬ ‫ُ‬ ‫َ َّ ۡ‬

LESSON 28 e ۲۸ ‫ﺳﺒﻖ‬
After a Madd, if there appears a letter with a jazm or a tasheed on it, then the sound of the letter must be
lengthened and read jointly.

‫ٰ ٓء ّٰل‬ ‫ٰ ٓا َّل‬ ‫ٰ ٓﻋ ِّﻦ‬ ‫ٰ ٓا ْل ٰ ٓا ﻟْ ٰﺌ َﻦ‬


َّ‫ٰ ٓءذ‬
‫ﺂر‬
ِّ ‫َﺿ‬ ‫آب‬
ِّ ‫َو‬ ‫ﺂﺳﲝ‬ َّ ‫َﻣ‬ ّْ ِ ‫ٰ ٓا ِّﻣ ْﻲ ر ْٓو‬
‫ﱐ‬ ‫ﷲ‬ ٓ
ُ ُ ‫ٰا‬
‫خ‬% ‫ﺗِ َّﺼﺂ‬ ‫ﻀ ْﻮ َﺣﺂ ّدُ ْو‬ ُ ‫ﺂم ٰ ٓءا‬
ُّ ‫ﷲ ٰ ٓﺣ‬ َّ ‫َﻫ‬
‫َﺣﺂ ّدَ ّٰل‬ ّ ِ ‫ﺗِ َّﻈ‬
ْ‫ﺂﱐ‬ ْ ‫ﺂﺟ ْٓﻮ ِ ّﱐ‬

َْ‫ﻏ‬ ‫آب‬ َّ ‫َﺷ َّﺮ‬
ِّ ‫اﻟﺪ َو‬
‫ﺂﺳﲝ‬ َ ‫ُﺗ َﺤﺂ ّدُ ْو َن ا‬
َّ ‫ﷲ ا َ ْن ّﻳَ َﺘ َﻤ‬ ‫ُﻳ َﻮآ ّدُ ْو َن‬ ‫ﺂﺟ َٗﻪ‬ّ ‫َﺣ‬

When reading a letter with a madd on it, the name of the letter should be pronounced and the sound
lengthened for a duration of four Alif.

LESSON 29 Qalb ۲۹ ‫ﺳﺒﻖ‬
If after Noon Saakin or Tanween, there is the letter Baa, then the Noon Saakin or Tanween will be
changed to the letter Meem.

‫َﻧ ْﻔ ٍﺲ ۢ ِﺑ َﻤﺎ‬ ‫ ْ ُﺒ ْﻮﻋًﺎ‬Yۢ ‫ﲑا َﻳ‬ً ْ ‫ﲑا ۢ َﺑ ِﺼ‬

Waqf (Stopping)
Teach the learner that when there is a Harkat or Tanween on the last letter of a word before a stop, that letter is made
Saakin, and if it be a Tanween of a Zabar, then the last word is pronounced with an Alif. If it be a round Taa, it is read
as a Haa. The following are some symbols of waqf.

‫‪When one stops, then the tanween (Noon Qutni) should not be pronounced when beginning the following word.‬‬
‫‪The Alif that appears before the small noon should not be read when a stop is not made.‬‬
