Countries are becoming more and more similar because people are able to buy the same products
anywhere in the world.
Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or
experience.
You should write at least 250 words.

The advancement in similar products has made it more popular to purchase in other places all over the
world. I believe this trend has both positive and negative impacts.

The merits of the ease of buying comparable products are undoubtedly manifold. One of the most
significant virtues of this accessibility is the fostering of cultural understanding and global harmony. As
people from different nations, they should have a chance to gain firsthand experience of diverse cultures
and traditions of food. However, not everyone can go to their native countries to enjoy it. As a result, in a
world that is becoming increasingly developed, such cultural exchange is of profound value. Furthermore,
the popularity of the same products worldwide also increases product quality. It stands to reason that the
competition between stores is becoming more and more fierce. Therefore, wanting to keep customers,
companies must improve product quality.

Despite its enormous value, this development brings forth a range of negative consequences. First, the
surge in similar products in other countries has put an immense strain on the environment because they
tend to be produced in mass quantities to meet global demand. This exposure increases not only waste but
also emissions from vehicles or factories, which puts the earth under threat of climate change and its
associated issues such as air pollution, habitat destruction and loss of biodiversity. Another deeply
alarming aspect of this is that accessible indistinguishable products can deteriorate local economic
growth. The rapid development of selling the same products worldwide in large businesses does more
harm to the local market, as the majority of this close-down.

In conclusion, the same products in other nations anywhere in the world can be considered as they offer
undeniable opportunities like cultural exchange, and promote product quality. However, it is also
important to be aware of the downsides, related to the health of the earth and the increase of domestic
income.
