 Non-routine Problems- are problems that are
solved involving regrouping and borrowing.

There are 4 steps in solving routine and non-routine

problems:

 Step#1: Plan

Read the word problem carefully. Find the hidden

question. And, give the given numbers and
operation/s.

 Step#2: Think

Think about the solution and put “n”. And, try to

solve it.

 Step#3: Solve and answer

To solve a two operation word problem always put a

parenthesis on the positive operation. After that,
solve with the negative operation, put an equal sign
and you get the answer. And,

 Step#4: Review

Review your answer to make sure your answer is

correct.

If you understand the lesson, then great!
