Inching Pedal Module Test

Inching Pedal Module Test

The purpose of this test is to measure voltage output from the inching pedal module (S07). For more information, see
Transmission Control Unit (TCU) Circuit Theory of Operation . (Group 9015-15.)

Inching Pedal Module Test Diagnostic Procedure

IMPORTANT:

Do not remove inching pedal module from pedal assembly. Removing and installing inching pedal module to
pedal assembly will damage inching pedal module.

NOTE:

For inching pedal module pin identification, see Cab Interior Harness (W15) Wiring Diagram—6WD or
see Cab Interior Harness (W16) Wiring Diagram—Non 6WD . (Group 9015-10.)

1 Top of Clutch/Bottom of Clutch Switches Check

Action:

With ignition OFF, disconnect inching pedal module (S07) from harness. See Cab Interior Harness (W15) Component
Location—6WD or see Cab Interior Harness (W16) Component Location—Non 6WD . (Group 9015-10.)

NOTE:

Pins are labeled in order A through F.

TX1094498-UN: Inching Pedal Module Test

Using JDG10456 and JDG10457 Flex Probes and a jumper wire, connect power from pin B on inching pedal module
harness to pin B on inching pedal module.

Connect ground from pin F on inching pedal module harness to pin F on inching pedal module.

With ignition ON, measure voltage at pin A with inching pedal in idle position (not pushed).

Measure voltage at pin A with inching pedal fully depressed. Compare to specification.

A (pedal depressed)

Measure voltage at pin C with inching pedal in idle position (not pushed).

Measure voltage at pin C with inching pedal fully depressed. Compare to specification.

Are inching pedal switches functioning correctly?

Result:

YES: Go to Inching Pedal Switch Check.

NO: Replace inching pedal.

2 Inching Pedal Switch Check

Action:

With ignition OFF, disconnect inching pedal module (S07) from harness. See Cab Interior Harness (W15) Component
Location—6WD or see Cab Interior Harness (W16) Component Location—Non 6WD . (Group 9015-10.)

TX1094498-UN: Inching Pedal Module Test

Using JDG10456 and JDG10457 Flex Probes and a jumper wire, connect power from pin D on inching pedal module
harness to pin D on inching pedal module.

Connect ground from pin F on inching pedal module harness to pin F on inching pedal module.

NOTE:

Voltage should increase evenly through full range of pedal motion.

With ignition ON, measure voltage at pin E with inching pedal in neutral position (not depressed).

Measure voltage at pin E with inching pedal depressed. Compare to specification.

Is inching pedal sensor functioning correctly?

Result:

YES: Checks complete. Inching pedal is functioning correctly.

NO: Replace inching pedal.
