Intended Use
The kit is an in vitro for the quantitative determination of haptoglobin (HPT) in human serum and plasma using the
Biossays series Automatic Biochemistry Analyzer, AS series Automatic Biochemistry Analyzer and Biolumi series
Integrated System, and the assay is used for an aid in the diagnosis of intravascular hemolysis.

Assay Principle
Immunoturbidimetric.
Anti-human Haptoglobin (HPT) with high specificity immunoreacts with haptoglobin in the sample to be tested, causing
the particles to aggregate, resulting in an increase in turbidity. The degree of change in absorbance is proportional to
the concentration of haptoglobin in the sample. The concentration of haptoglobin in the sample can be calculated by
comparison with the calibrator treated in the same manner.
