Revision: Angles

Do these word problems. Show your working clearly in the space provided.

1. The figure is not drawn to scale. ABCD is a trapezium where AD // BC. CDE is a triangle.
ADE is a straight line. Find ∠BCD.

2. The figure is not drawn to scale. ABC is an equilateral triangle. BCD is an isosceles triangle
where CD = CB. BCE and ACD are straight lines. Find ∠x.

∠x = 60º + 120º + 120º = 300º


∠ECA = 180º – 60º = 120º (∠s on a straight line) ∠BCD = 117º – 41º = 76º
∠BCD = 180º – 30º – 30º = 120º (sum of ∠s in a D = 180º) (∠s between two parallel lines = 180º)
2. ∠ACB = 60º (equilateral D) Solutions: 1. ∠BCE = 180º – 63º = 117º
