1. Project Summary

The Badminton Competition project aims to organize and execute a thrilling sporting event that
celebrates the skill, agility, and sportsmanship of badminton players in PSDC College. This project
encompasses various aspects, including planning, coordination, marketing, and execution, to ensure a
successful and memorable event for participants and spectators alike. This competition event will be
held on June 2024 at MBPP Relau Sport Complex. Each student will need to pay registration fee which is
RM15.00 per person. The duration will be from 3pm – 7pm. There will be 1 category which is doubles.
Either mixed doubles, male doubles or female doubles. The prize pool for this competition is RM100.00
and gold medals for the champion, RM70.00 and silver medals for he runner up and RM50.00 and
bronze medals for the third placing. Through targeted outreach efforts, participants across different age
groups and skill levels are encouraged to register, fostering a competitive yet friendly environment.

2. Project Objective

 Promote the sport of badminton and encourage participation at all levels throughout PSDC
College.
 Provide a platform for players to showcase their talents and compete in a competitive yet
friendly environment.
 Foster camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants.
 Engage spectators and create an enjoyable experience for all attendees.
 Establish the event as a recurring fixture in the local sporting calendar, building anticipation
and excitement year after year.

3. Methodology

1. Planning phase:
 The type of competition will be either doubles or mixed doubles based on
the participant’s choices.
 Tournament format will be knockout stage.
 Date: 15 June 2024, Time: 3pm – 6pm, Venue: MBPP Relau Sport Complex.
 Registration fee is RM30.00 per team all skill levels and no age group.
2. Registration:
 Promote the badminton competition in PSDC through posters, SIS PSDC and walk in
promotion.
 An online registration form will be sent through social media and through scanning from
posters.
 Collecting participant’s information, registration fees and contact details.
 Ensuring all participant’s understand all the competition rules, terms and conditions.

3. Preparation:
 Booking 2 courts, shuttlecocks, and other equipment’s.
 Creating a schedule for the matches that will be taking place, taking into account
the number of participant’s.
 Preparing scoreboards, brackets and other documentation for the report.

4. Execution:
 Conduct the players briefing before the competition begins. Such as to review the
rules, schedules, and expectations.
 Start the matches promptly according to the schedule and time.
 Ensure fair play and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
 Keep track of scores and updates for the knockout brackets as matches progress.

5. Final rounds:
 Organize the semifinals and finals based on the results of earlier matches.
 Present awards to the winners and runner ups.
 Thank the participants who came and played for the competition.

6. Follow up:
 Gather feedback from the participants to identify areas for improvement in the future.
 Evaluate the financial performance of the competition against the budget.
 Document all the lessons learned and put it all down in our report.
