Sample Letter

Dear granny,
Thank you for your letter which I received three days ago. It was
really nice to hear from you. I have been in New York for a month
now, and although I am studying English, I am having a great time
here. I haven’t been studying very hard since I arrived here because
the course is quite easy and all the teachers are fantastic. I have
already met people from many different countries but there is one
who has become really close.
I have some bad news too. A woman took my suitcase by mistake at
the airport. At that moment I didn’t notice but when I got to the hotel
I realized I didn’t have it. Someone else had taken it! After I had
called the airport, I received it at the hotel. They told me the woman
had returned it really fast but then I had to go to the airport to return
the one I took. It was a difficult situation but the people at the airport
were very considerate.
I am living in a hotel at the moment but we aren’t having a good time
so I have already decided to move and live with an American family.
Next week I am going to meet them. If we get on well, I will move in.
I am really looking forward to that moment.
