Question.4:-
XY SCATTER CHART
What is the XY scatter chart, define. Also prepare a data set in excel and insert an XY scatter
chart on it.

XY Scatter Chart :Scatter plots are the graphs that present the relationship between two
variables in a data-set. It represents data points on a two-dimensional plane or on a Cartesian
system. The independent variable or attribute is plotted on the X-axis, while the dependent
variable is plotted on the Y-axis. Scatter charts are commonly used for displaying and comparing
numeric values, such as scientific, statistical, and engineering data. These charts are useful to
show the relationships among the numeric values in several data series, and they can plot two
groups of numbers as one series of xy coordinates.

Use of XY scatter chart : A scatter plot (aka scatter chart, scatter graph) uses dots to
represent values for two different numeric variables. The position of each dot on the horizontal
and vertical axis indicates values for an individual data point. Scatter plots are used to observe
relationships between variables.

Advantages of scatter diagrams include: Patterns are easy to spot in scatter diagrams. A
scatter diagram is easy to plot with two variables. Scatter diagrams are an effective way to
demonstrate non-linear patterns.

Question.7:-
AREA AND SURFACE CHART
Define Area and Surface chart in excel with the help of diagrams.
The area is the measurement of the size of flat-surface in a plane (two-dimensional), whereas
surface area is the measurement of the exposed surface of a solid shape (three-dimensional). This
is the key difference between area and surface area. The unit for both the quantities is the same,
though, i.e. square units. Also, learn the difference between area and volume here.
AREA CHART: A surface chart plots sets of values in the form of a surface. It is basically a line
chart where the points for a data series for a category are displayed behind one another. The area
is defined as the total space occupied by the two-dimensional objects or flat shapes. In other
words, the area of a figure is described as the number of square units that cover the surface of the
closed figure. It is measured in square units, square inches. Since the area can be measured for 2-
dimensional shapes, it has only length and width.
SURFACE CHART: An area chart or area graph displays graphically quantitative data. It is
based on the line chart. The surface area can be measured for 3D shapes or solids. The term
surface area is defined as the total area of the surface of the given solid object. Since the faces of
the three-dimensional objects are basically 2D shapes, we should add the areas of the surfaces to
get the surface area of the object. Basically, the surface area can be classified as:

 Curved Surface Area (CSA) – It includes the area of all the curved surfaces
 Lateral Surface Area (LSA) – It includes the area of all the surface excluding the top and
bottom areas
 Total Surface Area (TSA) – It includes the area of all the surfaces of the object including
the bases
