FACTS/ STATISTICS A BOUT
SOLA R A ND W IND ENERGY:
Solar and Wind Energy are used around the world to provide clean/renewable energy, often
as an auxiliary to traditional power sources. In the United States 13.6% of our electricity
comes from Solar/Wind Energy. This number is increasing yearly, as new wind turbine and
solar panel fields are being constructed. Additionally, the government is creating incentive
programs to encourage consumer end instillation of solar technology.
Solar and Wind Energy Work by transforming the energy of sunlight and wind into electrical
energy which we can store/use.

PROS:
-Can be done efficiently on almost any
scale. From personal to industrial.
-Provides clean/renewable energy.
-Increasingly affordable as technology
advances.
CONS:
-Ugly design, which uses large amounts
of space. (Often space with other uses.)
-Inefficient compared to other power
sources, and unreliable as it is
dependent on weather.
-Takes time/money to install, which
doesn't pay off for a long time.
