Name: Position Title: Master Technician – Rapid Response Team. Salary Grade:
Service Operations – Africa DBU
Reporting to: Rapid Response Team Manager – Africa DBU Based: Africa DBU Service Operations RSA
Main Purpose of the Position
The Master Technician is responsible for providing expert technical support and skills transfer to Cummins Africa End Users, Distributors and Dealers across the
Africa continent
Key Responsibilities: (Include relevant responsibility for quality as per Cummins Quality Policy) Measures (Defined in the Workplan)
Capability
Maintain conversance with Cummins products, services, applications and markets
Successfully complete training on all relevant Cummins products BTAL - A trained Technician for every repair
Proper understanding and utilization of service product tools, literature, software and repair methods NPS
Maintain awareness and promote understanding of environmental product improvements Excel
Thorough conversance with Safety policies, Procedures, Job Risk Assessments and safe working practices Safety compliance
Maintain conversance with foreign travel policies and requirements Completion of corporate training
Ensure personal travel documents are kept up to date at all times Valid passport and travel Visa’s
Technical Support
Provide technical support in resolving product issues
Provide onsite technical repairs at product locations within the Africa continent.
NPS
Facilitate on site support of hard to diagnose product issues
NPS
Provide detailed failure analysis on engine failures
NPS
Drive improvements relevant to service publications NPS
Maintain updated best in class tooling and equipment Excel
Service Reporting
Facilitate clear communication
Ensure compliance with Quickserve Sprint Service Processes QS Scorecard
Maintain open and professional communication relating to service interventions NPS
Consistent, clear and accurate recording of service information and repair event data Excel
Maintain close working co operation with service stakeholders NPS
Collaborate cross BU with view towards being in service to organization NPS

Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years advanced technical experience including sound troubleshooting, diagnostic skills and repair practices. Cross BU and cross cultural experience. Strong understanding of
Company products and service processes. Certification of Microsoft office, utilization of company web interface and service packages. Sound service capability and reporting.
