Intended Use
The Snibe BiossaysTM α-AMY reagent is intended for quantitative determination of α-amylase in human serum.

Assay Principle
Amylase hydrolyzed EPS to p-Nitrophenylmaltotriose (PNPG3) and maltotetraose. Glucoamylase hydrolyzes PNPG3
to p-Nitrophenylglycoside (PNPG1) and glucose. Then PNPG1 is hydrolyzed by α-glucosidase to glucose and p-Nitro-
phenol. The rate of absorbance increase at 405 nm and is proportional to the amylase activity in the sample.

Assay Characteristics

Expected Values Adult: 10-100 U/L (2.5th -97.5th percentiles)

Limit of Detection (LoD) The LoD for α-AMY is 3 U/L.

Measuring Range 3-1500 U/L

Precision 3.33-3.93% (52.89-825.01）
