Chapter III

METHODOLOGY

III.1 Design methodology

This chapter discusses all the different sources of data to be undertaken and utilities in the architectural

proposal. This chapter also enumerates the different sources of data and significance of the study. The

data gathered about the site and the design analysis for the proposed site is also presented here. This also

shows the tabulation of budgetary requirements and timetable of the proposal.

III.2 Research Methodology

This descriptive method employed in this study aims at describing the situation as it existed at the time,

which demonstrates the series of actions and methods used in this plan of exploring the cause and effect

of the particular phenomena.

This proposal was conducted at San Pedro, Molo, Iloilo City. This proposal employed the combination of

the available data; site investigation and direct observation create a study of the behavioral patterns of the

users and to form a schematic diagram of the design.

III.4 Detailed Activities Undertaken Source of Data

40
CHAPTER III METHODOLOGY

The source of all data undertaken and gathered are interviews, related source books, internet-based,

library research, adviser, and maps related to structural planning. Observation, inspection and other

relevant factors of the site in its vicinity is also undertaken for analysis.

Land Ownership

The land ownership located in San Pedro Molo, Iloilo City was owned by the government. Its

significance is to know the classification and legalities of the land to where it will be constructed.

Socio-Economic Profile

The information on the socioeconomic profile was gathered through the city planning department office.

The structure would be beneficial in providing job opportunities to the people who needed it and to have a

venue for creational activities, relaxation, educational, and social-cultural events.

Zoning Classification

Zoning classification was achieved through the city planning office. The current state area of the

proposed area is under a sector which will be used as a theme park of the province of Iloilo.

Accessibility

Accessibility information was gained through the city planning office. It supplied information regarding

available and possible road, distances and other locations of Iloilo that may be used in this plan.

Geography

The information on geographical location was gained through the city planning offices of. It is significant

to determine the population that surrounds the area of the proposed site that surrounds the proposed site

that surrounds the district of Molo.

Slope

41
CHAPTER III METHODOLOGY

The slope category of the city falls between 0-3% or level land. This means that for every 100meters, the

rise is 0.5meters. Based on the bureau of Soil , the 0.5% of the total land area is the lowest, which is in the

portion of Barangay Balabago , District of Jaro.

Climate

The climate of Iloilo City is monsoonal and consists of two pronounced seasons: dry season from January

to April and wet season during the rest of the year. Rainfall and number of rainy days is highest during

the month of August and lowest from February to March.

Topography
