POST MORTEM CERTIFICATE

P. M. No: 246/2024 dated 27.01.2024


Cr. No: 16/2024 of Kothagiri P.S.
Regarding the body of a male aged about 62 years, named NILAGIRI. Requisition received at
11.55 am on 27.01.2024 from The Circle Inspector of Police, Kothagiri P.S. with his letter Cr.
No.16/2024.Body was identified by incharge of Head constable No.700 named Manogaran.
Identification Marks:
1. A black mole seen over the left side of chest.
2. A black mole seen over the left side of abdomen.
Body was first seen by the undersigned at 12.00 pm on 27.01.2024. The condition of the body
then was cold storage stiffening present all over the body. Postmortem examination was
commenced at 12.00 pm on 27.01.2024. Appearances found at Post mortem: Moderately
nourished body of a male aged about 62 years.
The following ante mortem injuries seen all over the body:-
1. Surgically stapled wound of length 16cm noted over the centre of abdomen (Vertical).
2. Surgical stapled wound of length 15cm noted over the right upper part of abdomen.
3. --------noted over the right and left side of lower abdomen.

OTHER FINDINGS:
- Peritoneal cavity contained 250ml of straw colour fluid.
- Pleural cavity contained 120ml of straw colour fluid.
- Hyoid bone: Intact.
- Larynx and Trachea: cut section congested.
- Heart: Enlarged All chambers contains about few cc of fluid blood. Coronaries – patent.
- Stomach contains about 50ml of brown coloured fluid, no specific smell, mucosa congested.
- Small Intestine contains about 10 ml of bile stained fluid, no specific smell, mucosa pale.
- Lungs – Edematous. Both lungs lower lobe consolidation present. Cut section: Purulent fluid
oozes out.
- Liver, Spleen, Kidneys– cut section congested.
- Urinary bladder: empty.

OPINION: The deceased would appear to have died of BLUNT INJURY ABDOMEN and its
complications.
