National Competition

The national competition is a national version of the international

competitions, especially robotics competitions, according to specific
standards, such as focusing on sustainable competitions and programs
that achieve the desired goals in the long term and focusing on open-
source competitions instead of being restricted to specific components,
which will contribute to increasing opportunities for participation and
discovering different students’ talents.

The participation in the competition is an opportunity for students

to showcase their skills and knowledge and encourage them to develop
innovative solutions to real-life problems in the field of programming and
robotics (RoboCup) and new categories under STEAM as AI and open-
source applications. The national championship contributes to identifying
distinguished students to sponsor, nominate, and prepare them for
global participation. Students from various educational institutions,
scientific clubs, and all entities specialized in training students in the field
of artificial intelligence compete to win the competitions.

3
Goals
1. Building a strong & sustainable infrastructure in the field of AI.
2. Increasing the number of outstanding students accepted into
universities in the country & abroad in specializations related to the
fields of AI.
3. Discovering and empowering promising students in the field of AI
and providing sponsorship programs to develop and build their
capabilities and prepare them for graduate studies.
4. Sponsoring students by linking them to opportunities that include
international competitions, practical training, and university
preparation opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence.

Target Group
The initiative includes all students interested in the fields of
artificial intelligence, from various educational institutions
(governmental and private), scientific clubs, and specialized teachers in
training students in the field of artificial intelligence.

4
The Expected Outcomes
- Providing students with knowledge in the fields of programming,
robotics, STEAM and artificial intelligence.

- Stimulating scientific research skills, problem solving and continuous

learning among students.

- Increasing students’ awareness of the importance of developing their

technical and scientific skills to lead economic productivity.

- Developing students’ leadership capabilities to manage technological

projects and artificial intelligence projects.

RoboCup is a project-oriented educational competition for

students, that focuses on providing a hands-on, scaffolded environment
where learners can grow by expanding their knowledge of, sparking their
curiosity about, and increasing their comfort with technology. The 3
challenges each emphasize cooperative problem-solving; each is designed
to reach creative young minds with a range of interests, and skills.

RESCUE Physical Robots or through simulation identify victims within

re-created disaster scenarios, varying in complexity from line-
following on a flat surface to negotiating paths through
obstacles on uneven terrain

SOCCER Teams of autonomous mobile robots play soccer in a highly

dynamic environment that mimics a real soccer field

ONSTAGE One or more robots come together with humans, dressed in

costume and moving in creative, interactive and collaborative
ways.

WRO UAE is the national version of the international World Olympiad, which
is a prominent technology event for students to showcase their technical skills and
take part in an excellent learning experience that develops their capabilities and skills.

ROBOMISSION A challenge-based competition. Students must design, construct and

program their robots to traverse and solve specific challenges on a field
within a set amount of time.

FUTURE A project-based competition. Students create their own innovative

intelligent robotics solution relating to the current theme of the season.
INNOVATORS Teams present their project and robot to a group of judges on the
competition day.

ROBOSPORT Teams design robots that compete with robots of another team. In a
match two teams each have 2 robots on the field. The robots are coded
to play the game autonomously and collaborate with each other where
possible.

FUTURE Is a self-driving car competition. Students will design a model car, equip
it with electromechanical components, and program it so it will be able
ENGINEERS to autonomously drive on a track and avoid obstacles.
