 individually write their personal opinions on their favourite theme from the novel and the reasons for their choice by
providing some evidence from the text in not less than 80 words.

ACTIVITIES
Pupils answer prompt questions from teacher to recall the characters, themes, and storyline of the
PRE-LESSON
novel which they have read prior to the class.

1. Pupils are divided into groups. Each group is assigned with one theme from the novel.
2. In groups, pupils discuss the theme assigned to them by talking about the scenes in the novel
which incorporate the theme. Pupils share their ideas with the class.
3. Pupils and teacher discuss all the ideas brainstormed as a class.
LESSON
DEVELOPMENT 4. Pupils are assigned to choose their favourite theme from the novel and write their personal
opinions on it. Pupils should provide reasons for their choice.
5. Using the ideas discussed earlier, pupils individually write their personal opinions on their
favourite theme from the novel and the reasons for their choice by providing some evidence
from the text in not less than 80 words.

POST-LESSON
Pupils answer simple vocabulary questions on the “exit card”. Questions are based on today’s topic.
