‘TFS’ Tension Feeder Sensor

the latest BTSR Analogic Tension Sensor Release

TFS (Tension Feeder System) a further new step ahead and improvement
made by BTSR R&D Division with reference to BTSR solutions developed
for Hygiene Sector

The TFS is the new analogic tension sensor able to measure the tension of
the spandex and to real-time give back such value to DIAPERFEEDER
Tension Control Device (First Control Loop).

TFS is installed near the DIAPERFEEDER device and is replacing the old analogic tension sensor, TS44
Tension Sensor.

BTSR ‘FIRST CLOSED-LOOP’ FUNCTION CONTROL

DIAPERFEEDER, working in symbiosis with the TFS, automatically controls and maintains output Spandex
Fiber Constant Tension Value.

The loop is made by three main actions performed by TFS and DIAPERFEEDER:

- 1st Measure of the tension

- 2nd Advanced Controller
- 3rd Motor Speed and Reaction
Main differences between TFS and TS44

 TFS is designed to reduce the frictions created by static contact points

 TFS ceramic on load cell is made by special low friction material (less stress to spandex compared to
TS44 ceramic on load cell)
 TFS has a fixed inlet ceramic and an outlet ceramic wheel. The inlet ceramic is fixed to avoid any
dynamic contact point between the motor and the ceramic of the load cell for a further better
control of the spandex in the first loop
 The outlet ceramic wheel is made of low friction ceramic material to reduce the spandex abrasion

DIAPERFEEDER output solution: TFS vs TS44

o DIAPERFEEDER coming with TS44 (the above image on the left side) is equipped with the
RWO.SP.006. The RWO.SP.006 is the output bracket with a wheel to drive the spandex out of
the TS44.
o DIAPERFEEDER coming with the new TFS (the above image on the right side) has no output
bracket. The Output wheel, to drive the spandex out of the tension sensor, is directly mounted
on the tension sensor itself.
o This option reduces the static contact points between spandex and ceramics, there is only one
dynamic contact point after the load cell of the TFS.

In the images beside the red arrows represent the static contact points in both cases.

 Left side: DIAPERFEEDER equipped with the TS44 and the output bracket RWO.SP.006.
 Right side: DIAPERFEEDER equipped with the TFS.

The green arrows represent the dynamic contact points in both cases.
A NEW OPTION FOR CUSTOMER’S CHOICE

The DIAPERFEEDER is now available in two different solutions:

- On the left – DIAPERFEEDER + TS44 – the traditional solution

- On the right – DIAPERFEEDER + TFS – the new generation solution
