EXAMINATION FINDINGS:
CT HEAD:
HISTORY: Right-sided numbness and headache
COMPARISON: None available.
TECHNIQUE: Noncontrast CT of the brain.
FINDINGS:
BRAIN PARENCHYMA: A small part calcified nodule along the falx on the
left side measuring 13 x16 mm appears to reflect a partly calcified
meningioma this is small and does not exert significant mass effect on
the brain. It is likely an incidental finding. There appears to be mild
generalized atrophy which is bit more prominent since typically seen at
this age. There is simple appearing subdural hygromas overlie the
cerebral convexities at the vertex of the brain on the right to thickness
at 13 mm and on the left sided thickness of 14 mm.
No focal bleed, mass effect or midline shift.
VENTRICLES : No Hydrocephalus.
VISUALIZED EXTRA CRANIAL SOFT TISSUES: Visualized paranasal and orbits
grossly unremarkable.
SKULL: Intact.
IMPRESSION: No acute process detected in the brain.
Probable small left parafalcine meningioma seen in the frontal area
without mass effect on the brain. This is likely an incidental finding.
Mild brain atrophy more than typically seen at this age with simple
appearing subdural hygromas over the cerebral convexities. Suggest a
follow-up CT in one year to reexamine the presumed meningioma.
