Takealot Preferred Couriers

Why make use of a Takealot Preferred Courier?

Takealot has partnered with preferred couriers to improve the inbound delivery service into our Distribution
Centres. The preferred courier solution has numerous cost and operational benefits to you as our
Takealot Seller. Please view the Service Offering Packs here and reach out to the couriers directly for
rates.

Using a preferred courier is not mandatory, however, the partnership between Takealot and the preferred
couriers will result in an improved overall service experience and subsequent cost benefits. Our list of
preferred couriers have been selected based on the following:

● national reach
● service offering raging from bulky, mixed, small, high-value parcels etc.
● standard lead times based on collection region and service
● account options (account, prepaid, cash)
● DC delivery process adherence
● bookings on behalf of sellers via allocation on the Takealot Booking System
● on-time delivery
● return and rejection management
● delivery performance reporting
● tracking and visibility

Who are the Takealot Preferred Couriers?

Please note: Takealot only monitors


the performance of the preferred
couriers in accordance with agreed
internal SLA's.

The commercial and operational


relationship remains between you
and the courier e.g. account
settlements, managing deliveries,
resolving delivery issues and queries,
paperwork, etc.

If you have an existing account with


one of the preferred couriers, you can
request to modify your account to the
preferred rates for Takealot deliveries
by contacting the courier.

How to select a Takealot Preferred Courier

Each courier compiled a service offering pack that can be viewed at the following link:

The packs specify the preferred rates, standard lead times, account options, account manager, sign up
process and any other relevant information. The courier will facilitate the opening of your account and the
commencement of the service. Ensure to confirm the service delivery lead time that you can expect from
your courier based on your location and Ship to Address (respective Takealot DCs) i.e. 24, 48 or 72 hours.

Note: Preferred rates are only applicable to the Sign-up Template


Express and Economy options as submitted in the
service offering. Any other services are priced at the Vendor Classification Takealot Seller
courier’s market-related prices.

After selecting your preferred courier(s) you can Seller Name (list all accounts)
proceed to contact them to open an account. Please
specify your details using the following template: Seller ID (for Sellers (list all IDs)
only)

What you need to know about allocating your shipments
Steps to booking a delivery with a Takealot Preferred
Courier

1. Ensure that your Shipments/POs are in the "shipped" status


2. Create your waybill with the courier
3. Use the PO number(s) as the reference number
4. Log into your Booking System profile and allocate the shipment to your Preferred Courier
5. Package and ship the parcels as per Takealot's Packaging and Shipping Requirements
6. Track the parcel and confirm delivery via the Courier parcel tracking service and booking system
7. Rejections and their returns (at your cost) to you will be communicated in case of a failed delivery and
will be resolved between yourself, the courier and Takealot

Note: Remember to allow for enough time on your Shipment/PO due date for the courier to book a delivery slot with Takealot.
If they have to book while the parcel is in transit, you have to notify the courier via an email or phone call with the
Shipment/PO number to ensure they make the DC booking for delivery before 2:45pm the day prior to the intended delivery.
