1.2 Safety
Only qualified and system-trained service staff is allowed to perform CT system installa‐
tion, service, maintenance, and quality assurance. Ensure that the most recent versions of
the service documentation are on hand. To avoid any risk of injury to persons and/or dam‐
age to the system, read the General Safety Notes (TD00-000.860.01.xx.xx) and observe
all guidelines given there. Please read and observe the Product-specific Safety Notes
(C2-015.860.01.xx.xx) and Product-specific Safety Notes (C2-068.860.01.xx.xx) which
include very important safety-related information as well as information about the han‐
dling of screws and nuts, use of Loctite, and instructions for torque wrenches.

8 2 Work Steps

2.1 Initial Steps

Prior to the upgrade, ensure that VC20B/VC28A/VC30B/VC40A software version is running
satisfactorily. Perform a scan to verify that the software is running.

 If the system’s original computer is configured to T11 with G1, then the hardware should
be replaced with 13B with 13P.

 During the upgrade, keep the gantry power on to save time.

 Before the upgrade, ensure that the system language is in English.

If the syngo language is not English (United States), it must be changed to English before
the backup is made to ensure a complete restore process.
n In the syngo user menu, select Options > Configuration.
n In the configuration panel, double-click Regional and Language Options.
n In the Format tab card, select English (United States).
n Confirm the reboot
