NAAN MUDHALVAN RESIDENTIAL COACHING FOR SSC

cum RAILWAYS & BANKING

NOTIFICATION OF ENTRANCE EXAM - 2024

‘Naan Mudhalvan’ is a visionary initiative launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister


of Tamil Nadu, designed to shape a brighter future for the State. As part of this
transformative program, the Naan Mudhalvan Competitive Exams Vertical was
established with a primary focus on empowering the Youth of Tamil Nadu to excel in
competitive exams conducted by Union Government recruitment agencies. Through
comprehensive training and dedicated assistance, this vertical aims to equip young
individuals with the skills and resources they need to succeed in these demanding
exams and increase the proportion of Tamil Nadu Candidates in Union Government
Services.

In the Budget speech 2024 – 2025 of Tamil Nadu on 19.02.2024, it has been
announced that, (Para No.78): -

“….with an objective of increasing the number of youth clearing Staff


Selection Commission, Railway and Bank examinations, 1,000 candidates
will be selected annually and provided quality training, with boarding and
lodging facilities, for six months……”

The TNSDC, under its Naan Mudhalvan Competitive Exams Vertical, is


conducting an entrance examination for “NAAN MUDHALVAN RESIDENTIAL
COACHING FOR SSC cum RAILWAYS & BANKING 2024” on 14.07.2024 to
shortlist 1,000 candidates who are natives of Tamil Nadu to provide free
coaching, food, accommodation, and study materials. Two separate entrance
exams one for SSC cum Railways and another one for Banking coaching programme
will be conducted simultaneously on the same day and at the same time. Hence,
candidates can apply either SSC cum Railways or Banking Coaching

Programme and must choose their preferred coaching (SSC cum Railways or
Banking) at the time of application. After submission of application, requests
for changing of Entrance Test from SSC cum Railways to Banking or Banking
to SSC cum Railways will not be considered. Also, request for changing of
coaching programme after shortlisting will not be considered.

A. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION FOR SSC cum RAILWAYS /BANKING:

Minimum Educational Qualification: The Candidate must hold a UG degree from


any recognized University in India.

B. AGE ELIGIBILITY (as on 01.08.2024):

For SSC cum RAILWAYS:

● Minimum - 21 years
(The candidates must have been born not later than 01.08.2003)

● Maximum - 29 Years*

(Candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1995)

C. ENTRANCE EXAM CENTERS:

1. Exam Centers are available in all 38 Districts of Tamil Nadu. The Candidates
should choose any one center for writing the examination in the application
form. The venue of the center will be intimated in the Hall Ticket.
2. TNSDC reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of examination
centers to re-allot the applicants accordingly.
3. Applicants should appear for the examination at their own expense.
D. PROCEDURE TO APPLY:

The candidates are requested to apply only through Online mode in the
following link:

*Note:
1. The candidates who are already employed in the Government are not eligible
to Apply for this Scheme.
2. The beneficiary candidates must apply for upcoming SSC at CGL level,
Railways or Banking exams IBPS PO or SBI PO as the case may be. The

TNSDC shall reserve right for termination, in case candidates fail to apply for
respective exams.

F. SYLLABUS OF THE SSC cum RAILWAYS EXAM

General Intelligence & Reasoning:

It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This


component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences,
space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment,
decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship
concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number
series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion,
syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy,
Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification,
Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series,
Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building,
Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends,
Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences,
Punched hole/ pattern- folding& un-folding, Figural Pattern-folding and
completion, Indexing, Address matching, Date & city matching, Classification
of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding,
decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional
Intelligence, Social Intelligence.

General Awareness:

Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates’


general awareness of the environment around him and its application to
society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events
and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their
scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will
also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries
especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General
Policy & Scientific Research.

Quantitative Aptitude:

The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of


numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be
computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships
between numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages,
Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and
Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of
School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and
its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle

and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common
tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons,
Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere,
Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with
triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures,
Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances,
Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.

English Comprehension:

Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic


comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested.

Financial Awareness, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Static Awareness.

I. Selection Procedure:

1. The candidates will be shortlisted for SSC or Banking Residential


coaching programme based on their marks obtained in respective
entrance test and as per reservation policy of Government of Tamil
Nadu.
2. In case of more than one candidate score same marks and only one seat
available for them, the candidate with maximum age will be shortlisted.

K. COURSE PLAN AND COACHING CENTER DETAILS:

1. The Coaching Programme includes Classroom Sessions, intensive training,


individual mentorship, doubt-clearing sessions, Class test, Mock test etc.

2. The Coaching Programme is residential in nature, hence the candidates


selected for coaching programme will be provided with free hostel
accommodation, Food and Coaching.
3. The candidates who got selected and enrolled in the course will be provided
with printed study materials and handouts for all topics relevant to the
course.

4. The candidates selected for the coaching programme should submit the
Medical Fitness Certificate to be obtained from a Government Medical Officer
at the time of joining the coaching programme.
5. The candidates selected for the coaching programme should compulsorily
stay at Hostels, hence request for day scholar coaching will not be
entertained.
6. The details of the Residential Coaching location will be intimated at
the time of Certificate Verification.
7. The candidates should deposit an amount of Rs.3000/- towards refundable
Caution Deposit. It will be refunded after completion of the Coaching
programme.
8. Attending training sessions, tests and mentorship programmes is mandatory.
