INTRODUCTION
This document provides additional and/or clarification of (M) and (O) procedures defined in the
Britten-Norman Islander BN2A/BN2B Master Minimum Equipment List (Ref. MMEL/1).

The Master Minimum Equipment List specifies the necessary (M) and (O) procedures. Most are
specified with sufficient detail so as to not warrant clarification or additional detail. Those that do
require clarification or additional detail are addressed in this Dispatch Deviation Guide.

(M) and (O) procedures are defined as follows:

‘(M)’ indicates a requirement for a specific maintenance procedure which must be

accomplished prior to operation with the listed item inoperative. Normally, these
procedures are accomplished by maintenance personnel, however, other
personnel may be qualified and authorised to perform certain functions. The
satisfactory accomplishment of all maintenance procedures, regardless of who
performs them, is the responsibility of the operator. Appropriate procedures are
required to be published as part of the operator’s MEL or other documentation,
endorsed by the operator and made available to the person(s) authorised to
perform the task(s).

‘(O)’ indicates a requirement for a specific operations procedure which must be

s
accomplished in planning for and/or operating with the listed item inoperative.
