MX - Intro to Web Part Configuration - Basic

show/hide of fields on the Account - Company

Information Form.
Shown below are steps for making a basic change to the Edit Form of the Account
module Company Information web part. These steps demonstrate at a very high level
how it is possible to make changes to the UI of an Edit Form simply by modifying
visibility of one of the predefined fields available for exposure on the Edit form.

1 Navigate to https://uwuuatmxemp.ptassoc.com/

Navigate to the "Dashboard" page and click the "Edit My Company" button to
2 open the Company Information Edit Form.

 Note that there are 3 Phone Number fields displayed on the Edit Form. We are
3 going to hide the "Other Phone" field, leaving only the "Main Phone" and "Fax"
fields displayed.

Click the "Account - Company Information" Configuration link to open the web
4 part configuration form.

 5 When the configuration form first opens it defaults to View Mode.

6 Click the Edit Mode tab and select "Basic Form Fields".

 Once the Basic Form Fields section expands, Identify the "Other Phone" field, and
7 set visibility to "Invisible". After saving changes, this will hide the "Other Phone"
field on the Company Information Edit form.

8 Click "Save" to Save and Close the configuration form.

 On the underlying page click the "Edit My Company" button to reopen the Edit
9 form. Note that only the "Main Phone" and "Fax" fields forms are now
visible. The "Other Phone" field is hidden on the form as expected.

Click the "Account - Company Information" configuration link to re-open the web
10 part configuration form.

 11 With the web part configuration form open, click the Edit Mode tab.

Select "Basic Form Fields" and Change visibility of the "Other Phone" field from
12 Invisible back to Full Access.

 13 Save the web part configuration form to return to the underlying page.

Once the Company Information web part is visible on the page, click the "Edit My
14 Company" button.

 Note that the "Other Phone" field is once again displayed on the Company
15 Information Edit form.

This is just a high level example of what the Web Part Configuration forms are
16 capable of doing. Play around with other settings on the configuration form to
learn more.
