2.1. Excavation
Considering that the soils are represented by rocks (limestone), soil development is expected in
several stages:
- destruction of rock masses;
- grinding large pieces of rock to the required fraction;
- loading onto vehicles.
Destruction and crushing of rock (limestone) is supposed to be done using an excavator
equipped with a hydraulic hammer or a bulldozer-ripper with specialized attachments.
After crushing the excavation soil for monolithic reinforced concrete grillages, strip
foundations, it is recommended to carry out to the bottom of the structure using Hitachi ZX250
type excavators equipped with a backhoe with a bucket with a capacity of 0.8 cubic meters. and
1.0 cubic meters (with appropriate justification in the PPR, it is permissible to use other types of
excavators, buckets of other capacities), in hard-to-reach places, compressed conditions -

Backfilling of the pit sinuses is carried out using JCB 3CX type backhoe loaders equipped with
bulldozer equipment and manually with thorough layer-by-layer compaction of the soil using
pneumatic or electric rammers type TR-1 or IZ-4501.
The steepness of the slopes of pits and trenches should be taken in accordance with the labor
safety standards.
Construction drainage
Due to climatic conditions, it is planned to install an external rainwater drainage system by the
beginning of the rainy season. Atmospheric water is drained by installing an open drainage
system. Open drainage is carried out by installing channels along the contour of the bottom of the
pit with a slope that ensures water drainage along the contours of the construction site or water
intake sumps, followed by the installation of pumps of the required power to pump out the water.
To carry out drainage, it is necessary to construct ditches with a slope of 0.003 towards water
collectors, draining water, mainly along the perimeter of the pit, with rainwater drainage into
receiving wells (water collectors, sumps) made of steel pipes Ø1220x10mm with a height of 1.5-
2, pumping using a pump outside construction site to places agreed upon by the customer and the
sanitary and epidemiological station.
The construction of drainage wells must precede the excavation of pit sections by at least 0.7-
1.0 m, and soil excavation must be carried out from the well with the necessary slope for water
drainage. The network of drains, sumps and catch basins must be placed so as not to create
limited conditions for the operation of earthmoving and other construction equipment and
vehicles, and not to interfere with construction.
If necessary, the pumping of surface and groundwater from pits should be divided into
technological sections in the plan. Water is pumped out using self-priming centrifugal devices of
the GNOM-10-10 type with a capacity of up to 10 m3/hour. engine power 4 kW and using electric
or motor pumps with a capacity of 80 m3/h.
The procedure and methods for performing excavation work are established by the PPR, which

4. Performing work in tropical climates
When performing work in a tropical climate, it is necessary to take additional measures to
perform the work and prepare mixtures and solutions, namely:
- the use of plasticizers and additives for concrete and mortars;
- use chilled aggregates to prepare the concrete mixture;
- reduce the time of delivery of concrete mixture and laying in formwork;
- transportation of concrete mixture in closed containers;
- cover freshly laid concrete with waterproof films.
The formwork should not have the slightest cracks to prevent loss of cement laitance and
moisture. Before laying the concrete mixture, the formwork is moistened. The shape of the
surface of the formwork made of moisture-absorbing materials (wood, plywood) should be
covered with special compounds or polymer films that prevent adhesion to concrete, as well as the
absorption of water from it.
The concrete mixture should be supplied and distributed using methods that prevent its
repeated overloading or rapid dewatering. It is not recommended to feed the mixture from open
conveyors, as well as on long trays. It is most advisable to supply the mixture with concrete
pumps or in large-capacity buckets using cranes. The free fall of the mixture should not exceed
1.5...2 m.
During the initial period of maintenance, concrete must be protected from dehydration, for
which open surfaces are covered with burlap, matting, and tarpaulin; After laying, the concrete is
systematically moistened every 3…4 hours.
The temperature of the concrete mixture when concreting structures with a surface modulus of
more than 3 should not exceed (30 - 35) °C, and for massive structures with a surface modulus of
less than 3 - 20 °C.
If shrinkage cracks appear on the surface of the laid concrete due to plastic shrinkage, repeated
vibration is not allowed.
Deputy inv.

Maintenance of freshly fallen concrete should begin immediately after placing the concrete

dehydration.
There are several ways to protect concrete from drying shrinkage:
- spraying water on the surface of concrete;
- protection of concrete with burlap, which needs to be watered;

- watering foundation structures.
Caring for concrete should consist of ensuring a moist surface condition by installing a
moisture-containing coating or continuously spraying moisture over the surface of structures. At
the same time, periodic watering of open surfaces of hardening concrete and reinforced concrete
structures with water is not allowed.
To avoid the possible occurrence of a thermally stressed state in monolithic structures when
directly exposed to sunlight, freshly laid concrete should be protected with self-destructive
polymer foams, inventory thermal insulation coatings, polymer film with a reflectance of more
than 50%, etc.

5. Quality assurance during work execution
