Jimmy’s Introspection

Jimmy was a youngster, living in California. He was unemployed and was in dire need of a job. So, he
went from place to place, inquiring for the same. Finally, his search ended and he landed an
interview at Arcop Associates. Jimmy was feeling a bit under the weather, completely unprepared for
the interview, he got cold feet. His friend, Logan used to pull his leg, asking him what was the need
for this interview when his skills could be useful elsewhere rather than here. Being his mother’s
apple of eye, Jimmy was determined and wanted to do something good for his mother for once.
Jimmy went for the interview.

“Have a seat” said the interviewer. “Sure, Thank you” replied Jimmy. “So, introduce yourself, Jimmy”
said the interviewer. “So, I’m a civil engineer graduated from Santa Clara University with a GPA of
6.7” replied Jimmy. “Your GPA is a bit low ; don’t you think?” asked the interviewer. “Yes Sir, but I
think my sheer will and hard work will be a perfect fit for this position in your company” replied
Jimmy. “Where did you work prior to applying for this position?” asked the interviewer. “I was a
freelancer before this, this would be my first corporate job.” replied Jimmy. “ Even though, you lack
experience, I think that you are worthy of working in this corporation. You are hired.” Said the
interviewer.

Jimmy was on cloud nine after hearing this. He sincerely followed his job but was not able to
terminate any project. His boss was fed up of him. So after some time, he decided to spill the beans
and set the records straight. So he went to his boss and told him that he was a game developer. He
had been lying because he was in dire need of a job because it was becoming very arduous for him to
make ends meet along with financially supporting his mother. But his boss wasn’t ready to even hear
a single word. He got fired. He was jubilant that he had in the end, spoken the truth. But now he
tried to join a job related to game developing, but he had forgotten most of the tricks and methods
taught to him by his teacher. So, he got fired by his boss and ended up being unemployed. His friend
Logan elucidated how he had tried to tell Jimmy not to choose the wrong path. Moreover, if
something is out of mind, out of sight, the person loses his focus on the thing and is unable to use it
in the future. The same was with game developing in Jimmy’s case.
