Preparing Students for Exams Lecture Engagement Log for Learning How to Learn
Exam time is a stressful time for students and for teachers. To enable students to succeed, Methods

lecture.
During class and term time
• Make sure that students highlight important details in their notebooks/binders or use lecture
engagement log technique, because this will help students when it comes to revision time. Promote students with the area that we identified by asking them to record how they prepare
for the lecture, how they participate, and how they improve their engagement.
Revision classes
• Identify the key topics students will need to know for their exam and try to make the revision Ask students to write example for each area and let them know how often you check their
memorable and motivational without overloading with information or stresses. logs.
• Make group discussion in class as part of exam review to promote analytical and independent
thinking.
• Allow students to ask questions about the exam and write quizzes for each other.
Ask student to organize their logs in class portfolio.
• Assign homework to prepare students early.
• Try to practice exam.

• Take regular short breaks, eat healthily and drink plenty of water, reading, listening, and participating. Also, help teacher to review how much students learn from the course
• Create mind maps and diagrams as a way to remember information studied,
materials.
• Look at test papers to help prepare for exams.
