Abbreviation of ACCA is Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Based out of UK,
ACCA is an international accountancy body with more than 200000 members and 500000
students in 179 countries. It was formed in 1904 and carries with it a rich history. It is
headquartered in London and has operations in 180 countries. It has hundred offices and more
than 7000 employees around the world. Chartered Certified Accountant is one of the major
professional qualifications given by the ACCA. It is considered as a desirable qualification for
young professionals and students, given the numerous benefits associated with it. After the
completion of the exams and relevant experience, you will become a member of ACCA.

ACCA’s scope in Pakistan, is respected and recognized all across the globe. Due to the nature
of the qualification, the professional mode of study and the certification’s repute ACCA’s are in
high demand in numerous industries such as banking, auditing, consultancy as well as other
professions like taxation and law etc..

The Applied Knowledge exams provides
students with a broad introduction to the
world of finance and develop your essential
understanding and techniques in accounting.
These exams are:

ACCOUNTANT IN BUSINESS (AB)

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING (MA)
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING (FA)

SKILLS
Comprising modules LW to FM, this module
examines the principle technical subjects that you’re
expected to have an advanced understanding of.
These subjects include law, taxation, auditing and
financial management, financial reporting and
performance management. With MIUC ACCA
programme, You will develop knowledge and skills
in these subject areas, reaching a level of knowledge
equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.

ESSENTIALS
This module is called Essentials as it will provide you with the specialised skills and techniques required
to become an expert accountant, either in a consultancy or high-level advisory role. Each of the 2 ACCA
papersis assessed with a 3-hour paper-based exam.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
2 Passes at GCE/VCE A Level (grades A-E) plus 3 passes at
GCSE/Vocational GCSE/GCE O Level (grades A-C or 1-6) in 5 separate
subjects including English and Mathematics.

(Intermediate Examinations/ Higher School Certificate at 50%

or above can be accepted as a substitute for O Levels)

EXAM REGULATION
All modules must be sat in order.

Maximum of four papers to be taken in one sitting.

Papers within a module may be sat in any order but ACCA recommends that they
should be sat in numerical order.

Papers from a variety of levels may be sat at any one time. i.e. Knowledge and
Skills or Skills and Essentials.

The three Essentials ACCA papers do not have to be sat together

Students have 10 years to pass all the examinations. From early 2016 students will
have 7 years to pass the exams at Professional level (SBL and SBR and two of the
options paper AFM – AAA). The 7 year time limit starts when a student passes their
first Professional level exam

The pass mark for all examinations is 50%

In addition to the above 13 papers, students are required to study and sit an
on-line module in Professional ethics. It is recommended that this is studied at the
same time as SBL

A batch of freshly enrolled students from MIUC Islamabad Campus'
ACCA & HND department paid visit to Special Technology Zones
Authority and attended a highly informative session on developing
industry trends and future of academia in Pakistan.

Director outreach & events, STZA, Ms. Hina Nasir had a meeting
with RISC's PR & Communications team and discussed matters
of mutual interest and growth.

 INDUSTRY LINKAGES
MIUC ACCA department attended a training program on income tax
and E-filing of income tax return Jointly organized by Rawalpindi
chamber of commerce and SMEDA.

Participants were also able to meet and network with well known
professionals and entrepreneurs from various sectors.

President RCCI Mr. Sakib Rafik along with Senior Vice President,
Mr. Muhammad Hamza Sarosh & Vice President, Mr. Faisal Shahzad
were present on the occasion and distributed training certificates
amongst participants.

On a regular basis MIUC provides such great opportunities to its

students so as ta make them prepared for tomorrow.

HUMAYUN KHAN
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to LLB all my teachers and the
management of MIUC who have been of great aid. I chose to study ACCA
because I’ve always been fond of Accounting. It was something really
important to me and I always saw a future in it. As soon as I completed my
ALevels, I wasted no time and got myself enrolled at MIUC to pursue my
dreams. Coming to MIUC was a life changing moment for me. It not only
provided the best education, it also made me a better human being. Going
to university is not always about attending classes and passing with good
grades. It’s also about interacting with people, making friends and
participating in various college activities which makes a person bold enough
to go out and face the challenges that may come their way. Gladly, MIUC has
taught me that and I’m proud to say that I study at this college.

URWA FATIMA
Being an accounting and finance enthusiast, joining ACCA program was a
big step for me. The reason why I chose this university was its prestige,
affordability and flexibility. And I feel choosing MIUC was one of the best
decisions I have made so far. After joining this institute, I came to realize that
it is not what you are being taught it is how you are being taught. The
dedicated and committed teachers at MIUC pursue learning not as a rote
work but as an invigorating process. The thing that I find the best is that the
supportive and cooperative faculty and management work towards
meeting the needs of the students individually.

ACCA has been a very comprehensive program to prepare me for my
professional journey through its diversity. I believe that the Metropolitan
International United College (MIUC) faculty and management has been
instrumental in streamlining my academic profile to steer me towards a
successful career path. MIUC has played a great role in providing facilities
and opportunities to help me to grow my knowledge and skills. I am proud to

ACCA Although there were people who told me not to join roots for ACCA, yet
I continued with my decision and proved many wrong. With my experience
here I could not think of any other place but MIUC. As Gina Greenlee said
“Follow your Heart, then root its longing with the facts “Besides providing the
best education through great experienced teachers, the environment here is
very friendly and amazing that study seems fun.Studying at MIUC not only
gave me great education but also taught me how to interact with people
around me. It makes me expand my knowledge and my communication
skills. As my amazing educational journey is coming to an end, I have already
started missing it.

MARIAM ALTAF
My ACCA journey has been like a roller coaster ride with its ups and downs
but I have throughly enjoyed it with the help of my teachers and
administration. At MIUC, the faculty has been a huge support and very much
concerning. Sir Asim Sagheer and Sir Bilal Arshad are those two teachers who
have kept me motivated. Apart from academics, MIUC has been a platform
of amazing opportunities and exposure. Recently I had the chance to attend
the Pakistan Leadership Conversation 2019, and had a detailed discussion
with the President of ACCA Mr. Robert Stenhouse. I can say that ACCA has
been the best career choice and MIUC equally. I’d recommend it to you all,
