Tugas:Descriptive English writing

1. Bakery: A store that sells various types of bread, cakes, and other food made from ingredients such as
flour, and yeast.

2. Beach: An area of a beach with white sand, clear seawater, and a blue sky.

3.in 2014 Throughout the ad, many emotional appeals are shown. First, the need to nurture is clearly
being shown every time it shows the man give the little girl money, as well as the fact that he feeds a
stray dog half of his lunch every day. The little girl, who is begging for money to get an education, is on
the streets with her mother. Every day, the man gives her more and more money until one day, she is
gone. He hears her shout something in the distance, and when he turns to look at her, she is dressed up
in a school uniform, smiling at the man. This scene is the part of the commercial that the advertisers
clearly knew viewers would like the most, since it tugs on the heart strings the most. This is the part
where viewers feel like tearing up, because they have such great emotional connections with both the
man as well as the little girl. This can also be for the dog, who he feeds so much that he eventually
decides to just take the dog in and make him his pet. Viewers are unconsciously attracted to this ad
simply because all human beings have a natural need to nurture.

4.In 2014, the advertisement above won advertisement of the year, promoting Thai Life Insurance. In
the ad, a man who doesn’t have much money, family, or anything for that matter, helps out everything
and everyone he possibly can. He helps a little girl get the money she needs for school, helps a woman
cross the street, feeds a stray dog on a daily basis, and brings a poor woman bananas everyday. This
commercial won ad of the year — and understandably so — for it’s great use of emotional appeals
(affiliation, nurture, guidance, achievement), due to how engaged it gets the viewer, and for it’s obvious
Jungian appeal.
