CURRENT SCENARIO

One important aspect is the optimization of traffic signal timings at key intersections in Ashta. This can help
regulate the flow of vehicles and reduce congestion. Analyzing traffic patterns and adjusting signal timings
accordingly can make a significant difference in improving traffic efficiency.

Another measure is to implement lane management strategies. By designating specific lanes for different types
of vehicles, such as bus lanes or carpool lanes, it can help prioritize public transportation and encourage
carpooling, which can reduce the number of vehicles on the road and alleviate congestion.

Improving public transportation services in Ashta, Sangli is also crucial. Enhancing the accessibility,
reliability, and efficiency of public transport options can encourage more people to use them instead of relying
on private vehicles. This can help reduce traffic congestion and promote sustainable mobility.

• To reduce the traffic congestions in and around the Bus stand area & sangli – islampur road.
• To introduce and make use of new alternate routes in and around the Bus stand area &
sangli – islampur road..
• Can avoid new construction of 2 way bridges.
• To make the traffic flow in a uniform manner, without having any stops at an intermediates.
• To give drivers and passengers, a smooth, tension- free and safe driving.

Objectives of the Work

• To identify the issues regarding traffic congestion in the study area.
• To conduct the traffic volume survey at ashta .
• To analyze the traffic data.
• To suggest the suitable traffic management measures by reducing the conflict points on
sangli- islampur road , ashta.
