D. Description
(1) This document provides Additional Maintenance Information (AMI).
(2) This Service Letter introduces the B-2428-2 cylinder, A-4257 low pitch stop
screw, and the associated hardware as alternate components for the affected
propeller models.
(3) The B-2428-2 cylinder is designed to accept the 5/8 inch A-4257 low pitch stop
screw. The larger screw is a design improvement to prevent stripped threads
that have occurred on the 3/8 inch A-4252 low pitch stop screw used previously.
(4) New propeller assemblies will begin shipping from Hartzell Propeller Inc. with
the B-2428-2 cylinder and A-4257 low pitch stop screw design.
(5) As inventory of the B-2428-1 cylinder is depleted, Hartzell Propeller Inc. will
replace orders for the B-2428-1 cylinder with the B-2428-2 cylinder.
(a) When ordering a new cylinder, the size of the low pitch stop screw, nut,
and washer must match the cylinder design.
E. Compliance
