CHAPTER V

Summary

The Study dealt with the investigation on the effects of Body Shaming on students social state of

Grade 12 Humss. This study aimed to answer questions on the a) what students experiences

about Body Shaming, b) how students get along with other students despite of Body Shaming,

c)how students feel about their self after experiencing Body Shaming.

Relevant data were collected through the use of an expert validated questionnaire from a total of

169 randomly selected students of Aurora Senior High School.

Major Findings

1. The students have neutral mean in all statements A and B. Which shows that body Shaming is

not a major issue among Filipinos.

2. Body Shaming among students is also might attributed to Filipino culture of conservatism

since students answers neutral in most all of statements in the given questionnaire.

3. Students feel weak and drained after experiencing Body Shaming has 3.79 mean (agree)
Conclusion

In light with the findings of the students, the following conclusion are drawn:

1. Body Shaming is not a major issue among Filipinos.

2. The students is connected to the Filipino culture of conservatism because their answers shows

agreement or disagreement to the given questionnaire

3. Body Shaming has an effect on mental, emotional and physical aspect of the students because

it stated that students feel weak and drained after experiencing body shaming most happens to

themselves.

Limitations

The study was limited to the following:

1. Students from other track and strand were not included in the study.

2. The data were gathered with researcher constructed questionnaire only.

3. The relationship between Body Shaming and the culture of Filipino citizens were not included

in the study.
Recommendations

Based on the identified limitations and findings of the study, the following are recommended:

1. A wider range of respondents must be use for future studies.

2. Relationship between body shaming and Filipino Culture must acquired for future studies.

3. Since Body Shaming has effect on students mental and physical well being, future researchers

must focuses more in this topic for their studies.

4. Other parameters such as positive experiences and feelings on Body shaming must also

investigated to counter validate the claim of the study.
