and embrace elements of other cultures. Additionally, technology, especially social media, has fastened
this process by allowing immediate communication and information exchange worldwide. Social media
platforms like Facebook and Instagram allow people to connect with others from different backgrounds,
share cultural experiences, and challenge stereotypes. As a result, people are increasingly exposed to
and influenced by a variety of cultures, creating a more interconnected global community.

Question 2.

In recent decades, the controversy about the allowance of advertisements targeted at children has been
heated around the globe. Although these commercials can strongly negatively affect children, I think
that prohibiting such kinds of advertisements is not a sustainable approach.

On the one hand, bombarding children with commercials can cause serious issues. First, ads aimed at
children can bring harm to their health. Since most kids do not comprehend what advertising is, they are
readily convinced to purchase these unhealthy junk foods such as chips, burgers, and soft drinks; which
may lead to many serious health issues, such as obesity and diabetes. Second, many of the eye-catching
commercials may unintentionally harm a child's academic performance. For example, young people
may find it difficult to concentrate on a particular task for an extended period after being inundated with
commercials, affecting the quality of performance outcomes at school.

On the other hand, completely banning marketing campaigns targeting children has not been a long-
term and effective solution. Since a thriving economy depends heavily on advertisement, prohibiting
ads may force many businesses to experience a decline in sales and revenues, which would ultimately
have an impact on the economy and unemployment rates. KFC, MC Donald’s, for instance, offers
thousands of jobs in the advertising industry through its locations around the world. Should advertising
be outlawed, a great deal of workers, including marketers, may lose their jobs, forcing the government
to step in and give them short-term financial assistance. This will create a financial burden on the
government’s budget in the long run.

In conclusion, although advertisements towards children have several detrimental impacts, introducing a
ban is insensible. Families and governments should collaborate to have reasonable solutions that benefit
both children and the economy eventually.
