Attach a warning tag

Ÿ Unexpected machine movement can cause serious injury.


Ÿ Before performing any work on the machine, attach a warning tag on the remote control lever.
Ÿ When carrying out any operation with two or more workers, always agree on the operating procedure before starting.

Sound the travel alarm

Ÿ Turn on the travel alarm off switch when you start to move the machine.. Sound the horn and let other workers and
bystanders know you are starting the machine.

Ÿ Illuminate your work area adequately but safely.


Use a portable safety light for working inside or under the machine. Make sure the bulb is enclosed by a wire cage.
The hot filament of an accidentally broken bulb can ignite spilled fuel or oil.

Ÿ Use a tool only for its designed application.


Ÿ Keep all tools in good condition and know the correct way to use them.
Ÿ Decide on a place in the repair workshop to keep tools and removed parts.
Ÿ Always keep the work area clean and make sure that there is no dirt or oil on the floor.
Ÿ Before adding oil or making any repairs, park the machine on hard, level ground and put blocks under the wheels or
tracks to prevent the machine from moving.
Ÿ Before starting work, lower the blade, ripper, bucket or any other work equipment to the ground.
If that is not possible, insert the safety pin or use blocks to prevent the work equipment from falling.

Control lockout system

WARNING
Place the control lockout lever securely to "Locked" position to lock out the control hydraulics before starting the
engine or leaving the operator's seat. Unless the control lockout lever is in the "Locked" position, control levers can be
operated by careless touch, which could cause serious injury.

Ÿ This system is used to LOCK OUT the attachment, slew and the travel unit. Place the control lockout lever equipped on
the left control console to "Locked" (B) position to lock out the hydraulic operating levers.

Use handholds and steps

Never jump on/off the machine

Ÿ Never jump on or off the machine.

Always maintain a three point contact with the steps and handrails

Ÿ When you get on and off the machine, always maintain a three point contact (two feet and one hand or one foot and
two hands) with the steps and handrails and face the machine.
Do not use any controls as handholds, when entering or leaving the operator’s station.
Do not try to climb on or off the machine when carrying tools or supplies. Use a hand line to pull equipment up onto
the platform.

Remove all mud and oil from the steps

Ÿ Remove all mud and oil from the steps of other places used to get on and off the machine.
