2. PRESENTACIÓN

The PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE indicates continuing action, something going on now. This tense is
formed with the helping "to be" verb, in the present tense, plus the present participle of the verb (with an
-ing ending): "I am reading a learning guide now”.

3. ACTIVIDADES DE APRENDIZAJE

3.1 Actividades de reflexión inicial

What do you usually eat when you go to a restaurant? What are some of your favorite dishes?

What is the most special dish or food that you can cook now?

A) Depends on the restaurant, but I usually order a tray paisa


Some of my favorite dishes are

Describe the video using the present progressive tense, indicating the food and drinks they are having and
some other important details. (10 sentences at least)

The waiter is taking the ordering of the three people, the first girl ordering bean soup as a starter, and
salad with vegetables as a main dish

The second girl ordering the same and spaghetti Bolognese and salad.

Finally, the man is ordering chicken with a tomato and mushroom sauce.

The waiter is asking them what they want to drink.

The first girl is asking for a glass of red wine.

The second girl is asking for a glass of sparkling water.

And the man is asking for the same thing as the first girl.

 Today´s soup: The special soup is already prepared for the day
 Starter: Food ordered before the main plate
 Main course: the most substantial food of a meal
 A glass of wine: It is an alcoholic beverage served in a glass
 A sparkling water: carbonated water usually known as soda
 Desert: the sweet course eaten at the end of a meal
