D. K to 12 Inclusion Policy

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this lesson, learners will be able to:
K – Discuss the historical development of K to 12 Inclusion Policy;
S – Apply a variety of strategies to recognize and value the diversity of learners within the
education system through brainstorming.; and
A – Appreciate the implementation of the K to 12 inclusion policy and ensure it’s being done
effectively.

What is Inclusion?

• is the act of including someone or something as part of a group


• is the practice of ensuring that all individuals feel welcomed, respected, and valued within a
group or community, regardless of their differences. It involves creating an environment
where everyone has equal opportunities to participate, contribute, and thrive.

The goal of this is to establish a supportive and diverse learning environment that caters to
the needs of every student.
K to 12 Inclusion Policy (2013)
(1) Responsiveness to rights;
- realizes DepEd commitments: quality, equitable, culture-based and complete

- Rights-based Approach (RbA) recognition, promotion and protection.


(2) Sensitivity and responsiveness to context; and
- recognizing and valuing diversity of learners, schools and communities
(3) Recognizes and respects learners’ rights to relevant and responsive to their context.
- No learner left behind

K to 12 inclusion policy means that everyone is included, and sensitivity is very important.

President Benigno Aquino III established this in 2013.

Importance and purpose of K to 12 Inclusion Policy


• gives everyone a fair chance at good education
• Makes sure that all students, can get a good education together.
• Special Needs Support
• equal opportunities
