ABOUT
This pattern is written using US terms and is worked in continuous rounds, unless stated otherwise.
If you use different hooks and yarns sizes you may have change safety eyes accordingly.
Using the listed material your plushie will be around 8 cm tall.
I use Ch 2 method instead of MR but feel free to use the method you like the most!

 BODY/HEAD

R1 Ch2, 6 sc into the 2nd ch from hook (6)

R2 6 inc (6)
R3 (1sc, inc) x6 (18)
R4 1 sc, inc (2sc, inc) x5, 1 sc (24)

*NOTE* On the next round we are going to make the legs which will be crocheted in FLO. I suggest you to
mark the left BLO with a stitch marker as in round 6 you will have to work in those BLO stitches.

R5 (3sc, inc) x2, 1 sc Change to Orange in FLO make 1 slst, ch2 4 HDC
all in FLO and in the same stitch, Change to white 1sc, inc, 2 sc Change
to orange in FLO 1 slst, ch2, 4 HDC all in FLO and in the same stitch,
Change to White inc, (3sc, inc) x2 (30)

R6 30 sc (30) NOTE When you arrive where legs are, you need to make
the SC In the BLO left from previous round, all the rest will be worked
normally through 2 stitches.

R6 to 9 (4 rounds) 30 sc (30)

On the next round we will make 1 Popcorn stitch (PC) to make the beak.

R10 14 sc, Change to orange 1PC change to white 15 sc (30)

Insert your 14mm safety eyes on the same round of the beak between
rounds 10/11, 5 stiches apart.Start to fill and continue to fill as you go
R13 (2sc, dec) x6 (18)
R14 (1sc, dec) x6 (12)
R15 6 dec (6)
Fasten off leaving a long tail. With a yarn needle insert the tail into
the 6 stitches left, into the FLO only, then pull firmly and close it.
 *NOTE* The crest, the wings, the tail and the wattle will be directly crocheted on the plushie, no sew is
required. Remember, when you attach the yarn, leave a long tail at the beginning as well,
as we will fasten off both the end and the start.
If you are unsure where to insert the hook, help yourself with stitch markers (see pictures below for referece).

CREST
Insert your hook upward in round 14, in the very center (
look at the beak for reference).
Ch2 and make 4 Hdc in the same stitch, 1slst in the
following stitch. Repeat 3 times.
Fasten off both the end and the start.

WINGS

Insert your hook upward on round 10, 4 stitches apart

from the eyes.
Ch2 and make 5 Dc and 1 sc in the same stitch.
Fasten off both the end and the start.

TAIL
Insert your hook upward on round 4.
Ch2 and make 3 Dc and 1 slst in the same stitch.
Repeat 3 times.
Fasten off both the end and the start.
 WATTLE
Insert your hook towards the wings in round 9, behind
the beak.
Ch2 and make 4 Hdc and 1 slst in the same stitch.
Fasten off both the end and the start.
