ABSTRACT
Research Title
Pockets and Parenthood: Financial Security Shaping Childfree Decisions Among Millennials in
General Trias City, Cavite
LYFJSHS| Practical Research 1| Qualitative Research
Purpose
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between millennials who have chosen
to remain childfree and their level of financial stability.
Design/Methodology/Approach
This study used purposive sampling to select Childfree Millennial residents of General Trias City,
Cavite as participants. Also, this research utilized correlational study, according to Bhandari (2021), a
correlational research design investigates relationships between variables without the researcher
controlling or manipulating any of them. This can be used to gather in-depth insights into the problem
or generate the connections of ideas for the research. This was employed in this study to find out how
the childfree people’s financial stability contributes with their decision to have no child for the time
being.
Findings
The study's findings show that there is no statistically significant relationship between millennials'
financial capabilities, specifically in terms of their savings, and their decision to have a child.
Research Limitations/Implications
Only people who have opted to put off having children and are between the ages of 27 and 42 are the
study's focal subjects. Only those who are employed and reside in General Trias City, Cavite, are
eligible for the study. Additionally, the researchers include the millennials who work outside of the
specified location yet live in General Trias City, Cavite. The primary method for data collection will
involve the administration of survey questionnaires to eligible respondents.
Originality/Value
This information provides valuable insight that can help raise awareness about individuals who choose
to remain childfree. These individuals frequently face societal challenges, and knowing their
experiences can help build empathy and support for those making such decisions.

Maintaining a good academic record has been a personal mission, and I take pride in
being a consistent honor student. Last school year (2022-2023), I made it to the With
Honors list, and in the current semester of Grade 12, I achieved With High Honor.
My commitment to academic excellence drives me to aim for the same in the
upcoming semester. In the academic area, my research study garnered recognition as
the first-ever champion at the Lyceum of the Philippines University - Cavite's 1st
Inter-Senior High School Research Competition. I had the privilege of being the
research presenter, and I also clinched the title of Best Research Presenter - Rank 1 at
our school's event, LuisSalikSeek 2023. Outside the academic sphere, my passion for
leadership is evident in my role as the Secretary of the Supreme Secondary Learner
Government (SSLG) for the academic year 2023-2024.

Continuing a good academic standing has always been a personal aspiration, and I
find immense joy in consistently earning honors. In the preceding school year (2022–
2023), I secured a coveted spot on the With Honors list, and in the latest semester of
Grade 12, I proudly achieved With High honors. My unwavering commitment to
academic excellence fuels my determination to pursue greatness in the current
semester. Within the academic realm, our research study garnered recognition,
winning the esteemed title of Best Research Poster - Rank 3 at our school's
prominent event, LuisSalikSeek 2023. Beyond academic accomplishments, my
passion for leadership finds expression in my role as the Executive Secretary of the
HUMSS Society for the 2023–2024 academic year. In this capacity, I not only
contribute to the society's initiatives but also showcase my dedication to effective
and organized leadership outside the traditional classroom setting. This multifaceted
engagement allows me to further cultivate my love for both academic and
extracurricular pursuits, creating a well-rounded and enriching educational
experience.
In the realm of storytelling, I have also won First Place in the Divisions Storytelling
Competition in 2017, Second Place in the Division Schools Press Conference for
Science and Technology Writing, and First Place in the Divisions Schools Press
Conference 2023 for Best Feature Writing in Online Publishing English, all while
being a committed member of the journalism. In addition, my goal as a leader is to
motivate people with sincerity and steadfast purpose. My participation in the
HUMSS Society as well as a number of other activities show my dedication to this.
I'm intrigued to the idea of having a beneficial influence in education and other
fields, so my goal is to obtain a Bachelor of Education with a Science major in the
near future.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I've held the position of Vice President in both
year 11 and now year 12—a recurring theme in my educational journey. This reflects
my ability to inspire and guide others. Maintaining an excellent academic record is
crucial to me, and I take pride in being a consistent honor student. While recognized
with honors in the first quarter of S.Y 2023-2024, I view it as motivation to work
even harder, understanding that the grind doesn't stop but keeps me grounded on the
path to continuous improvement. With unwavering determination, I have now set my
sights on attending Cavite State University - Don Severino Delas Alas Campus in
Indang, Cavite. I strongly believe that I am destined to become a lawyer. Wearing
that black coat and joining a prestigious law firm is my ultimate goal. Fueled by my
passion for justice, I aspire to make a lasting impact and leave behind a powerful
legacy in the pursuit of truth and fairness. Ultimately, my happiness is of utmost
importance to me. I know that by pursuing my dreams and working hard, I can create
a fulfilling life for myself and make a difference in the lives of others.
