Trust Formation in Kerala - Checklist
Procedure
Decide the type of NGO – a Trust or a Society.
Decide a Name for the Trust.
Appoint a minimum of two trustees.
Determine lawful objectives falling under charitable, religious, educational,
or social welfare activities.
Prepare a trust deed clearly defining objectives, rules, and regulations.
Execute the trust deed with proper signatures and 2 witnesses
Minimum Stamp Paper value: Rs.5,000/- or 2% of Corpus value mentioned.
Register at Sub-Registrar office/Registrar at Trust Address.
Arrange for the payment of the registration fee.
Submit the application and supporting documents to the Registrar of Trusts.

Proof of identity for trustee(s). – Self Attested
Two photographs of the parties involved in the trust.
Address proof for trustee(s) (Any form of a utility bill as proof of address.) –

PAN cards of the individuals associated with the trust.
Valid email ID.
Valid Mobile Number.
Additional Procedures - After Receiving Trust Registration
Bank account details of the trust.
Apply for PAN card of the trust
Optional Procedures
NGO Darpan registration to accept money in Foreign Currency
In Order to Claim Exemptions Under Section 11 & 12 Of Income Tax Act,
1961, It Is Mandatory for All Trust/Society/Institution to Get Registration
Under Section 12a Of the Act.
