क्या है सिकल सेल रोग?

सिकल सेल रोग (SCD) एक आनव ु ांशिक है , जिसमें रक्त में हीमोग्लोबिन के उत्पादन करने वाले जीन दोषपर्ण
ू होते हैं.
यदि माता पिता दोनों सिकल सेल एनीमिया (SCD) रोग से ग्रसित हैं, तो बच्चा भी सिकल सेल रोग से ग्रसित होता है .
यदि माता पिता में से किसी एक में दोषपर्ण
ू जीन है तो नवजात भी बीमारी का वाहक बन सकता हैं. (gfx)
सिकल सेल रोग, आमतौर पर बाल्यावस्था में उत्पन्न होता है (gfx). जिन लोगों में सिकल सेल का लक्षण होता है , उनमें
सिकल सेल बीमारी तो नहीं होती, लेकिन उनमें दस ू री जटिलताओं का जोखिम बढ़ जाता है ।

क्या है सिकल सेल? सही जानकारी से संभव है बचाव(gfx)

सिकल सेल एनीमिया के लक्षण:

1). रक्त कोशिकाओं में कमी (एनीमिया)
2). आँखों का पीलापन
3). शरीर और जोड़ों में गंभीर दर्द
4). सांस फूलना
5). थकावट
6). संक्रमण का बार बार होना
7). गर्भावस्था के दौरान जटिलताएं
8). अंग क्षति

जब किसी व्यक्ति के हाथ पैरों में दर्द होना, कमर के जोड़ों में दर्द होना, अस्थिरोग, बार- बार पीलिया होना, लीवर पर सज

आना, मत्र
ू ाशय में रूकावट/दर्द होना, पित्ताशय में पथरी होना, यह समस्याएँ होने लगें तो उसे रक्त की सिकल सेल एनीमिया
के लिए जांच करवाना आवश्यक होता हैं.

सिकल सेल एनीमिया यानी जिंदगीभर के लिए हो जाती है खन ू की कमी, ये गलतियां न करें
ज्यादा गर्मी या धप
ू में और ज्यादा ठं डी में बाहर न निकलें.
ज्यादा तकलीफ हो तो घरे लू उपचार न करते हुए अस्पताल में डॉक्टर से सम्पर्क करें .

किसी भी जातीय समह ू के लोगों में सिकल सेल लक्षण या बीमारियां हो सकती हैं. भारत में 16 से अधिक राज्यों में सिकल
सेल रोग की अधिक घटनाएं हैं. खासतौर पर यह आदिवासी आबादी में अधिक पाया जाता हैं.

एनीमिया वाले बच्चे संक्रमण के प्रति अधिक संवेदनशील होते हैं, जो आमतौर पर बख ु ार से शरू
ु होता है और जीवन के लिए
खतरा हो सकता है . उपचार के रूप में दवाओं और रक्ताधान (Blood transfusion) का उपयोग किया जा सकता है .

(एचपीएलसी) विधि का उपयोग करता है . जबकि यह परीक्षण आपके रक्त में मौजद
ू हीमोग्लोबिन के प्रकार की पहचान करने
में मदद करता है .

सिकल सेल बिमारी का अर्थ है सिकल सेलों की समस्या जो एक गंभीर जनेटिक रोग है . इसे सिकल सेल एनीमिया भी कहा

इस मिशन का लक्ष्य अगले 3 वर्षों में 40 वर्ष से कम उम्र के लगभग 7.0 करोड़ लोगों की जांच करना है .

What is Sickle Cell Anaemia?

Sickle cell anaemia is a genetic condition where the haemoglobin molecule inside red blood
cells is abnormal. The red blood cells carrying the abnormal haemoglobin become sticky and
deformed (C shaped). They get destroyed resulting in anaemia.

Why Sickle Cell Awareness Matters?

● Both men and women have equal risk of getting this disease.

● Sickle cell anaemia occurs in children whose parents are sickle cell carriers.

● Awareness can improve screening and in reducing the burden of this disease.

What is Sickle Cell Crisis?

Sickle cell crisis is when sickled cells clog small blood vessels, causing extreme pain and other symptoms

How can you identify sickle cell anaemia crisis?

● Hand-foot syndrome- swelling and pain of hands and feet

● Acute chest syndrome – cough, difficulty in breathing
● Eye – can affect blood vessels in eye and reduce vision
● Stroke – can affect blood vessels to brain and cause stroke
