Have you been offered admission by your Institution (Well, A Big Congratulations!), as you would know,
there is still one more step for you to take; you need to accept the admission offered to you on the
JAMB CAPS portal. In this post, we have created a complete and detailed step by step guide to educate
you on how to accept admission on JAMB CAPS.

Alright, let’s dive in.

Before we start, it is important for you to understand how the JAMB CAPS portal works. You might be
wondering the portal is about.

THE JAMB CAPS

The CAPS (Central Admission Processing System) is a portal developed by the Joint Admission and
Matriculation Board to foster the organization’s commitment to progressive improvement and efficiency
in the discharge of its mandate. The CAPS portal, according to JAMB, ‘streamlines the admissions
process, addresses the challenges associated with the manual approach, restores the autonomy of the
tertiary institutions with respect to admissions, makes candidates the focus and empowers them with
information on available choices of institutions and programmes, expands admission opportunities,
eliminate multiple admissions, and provides easily retrievable data for decision making and research on
the education sector in the country’- a great deal, right?. So, The CAPS portal is the portal where
students/aspirants/candidates seeking admission into the various tertiary institutions in Nigeria
(Universities/ Polytechnics/ Colleges of Education) can monitor their admission process, accept course
transfers and as well accept or reject an admission offer.

N.B: Now, we are going to walk through the guide and you have to be very careful because, once you
accept an admission offer from an institution on the JAMB CAPS portal, you will not be ‘available’(so to
say) for another institution’s admission consideration. And of course, if you reject the admission offered
to you by an institution, it means that you will be available for other institutions who still have admission
spaces for admission consideration. Okay, let’s go.

How To Accept Admission Offer On JAMB CAPS Portal Using Mobile Phone.

Now, I’m taking this first because, I know most of you are currently reading this on a mobile Phone. I
highly recommend Google Chrome Mobile browser for this purpose. You can easily download it on
Google Playstore.

STEP 1: Go ahead to the JAMB efaciltiy portal by clicking on this link:

https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/

STEP 2: Supply the required details; your email address and your password (Be careful to type in your
details correctly)

STEP 3: Click on the blue Login button and then you will be directed to your account dashboard.

 STEP 4: Now, that you are in, click on the purple ‘Check Admission Status’ button

STEP 5: Now, you will see two rectangular boxes with one saying; ‘access my CAPS’ and the other with
the words; ‘Check Admission Status’. Click on the ‘Access my CAPS’ option enclosed in a green rectangle.

STEP 6: You will now be taken to your CAPS page, but as you will see, you won’t have the full and
needed view, therefore you have to click on the 3 vertically arranged dots on the top right corner of
your phone and scroll down so as to mark/check the ‘desktop site’ option.

STEP 7: Once you’ve done that i.e. STEP 6, Click on ‘Access my CAPS’ once again and then, you will have
a full view.

STEP 8: Now that you have a clear view, on the left-hand side, click on the ‘Admission Status’ option
and you will be directed to your ‘Admission Status’ page

STEP 9: Once you have been directed to your admission status page, you will see your details; your
Jamb Registration number, your institution, your course, your UTME subject combination and most
importantly, your admission status. If you’ve been offered admission, you will see ‘CONGRATULATIONS,
YOU HAVE BEEN OFFERED ADMISSION!’ under your admission status, then you can either Accept or
Reject the admission offer.

In my case, as you can see below; I have accepted my admission offer, which is why the buttons are not
bold.
Now, it’s time for our PC users.

How To Accept Admission Offer On JAMB CAPS Portal Using A PC.

For our PC users, the process is actually similar with some minor tweaks. Let’s go.

STEP 1: Go ahead to the JAMB efacility portal by clicking on this link:

the words; ‘Check Admission Status’. Click on the ‘Access my CAPS’ option enclosed in a green rectangle.

STEP 6: You will now be taken to your CAPS page, click on the ‘Admission Status’ option and you will be
directed to your ‘Admission Status’ page.

STEP 7: Once you have been directed to your admission status page, you will see your details; your
Jamb Registration number, your institution. Your course, your UTME subject combination and Most
importantly, your admission status. If you’ve been offered admission, you will see ‘CONGRATULATIONS,
YOU HAVE BEEN OFFERED ADMISSION!’ under your admission status, then you can either Accept or
Reject the admission offer.

Like I said earlier, the ‘accept admission’ and the ‘reject admission’ buttons are not bold because I have
accepted my admission offer.
