Delicate pumpkin

Crochet pumpkin pattern

Designer: Evgeniya Dunaeva(@dunaeva.toys)

Hello, my dear friend!
Welcome to the magic amigurumi world!
Very soon You will create your delicate pumpkin, and I am
excited to see how it will turn out! Please, tag me and give a
credit to @dunaeva.toys, as the designer of this pattern, I
will be very pleased!
Materials:
For these pumpkins You can use any yarn to your
liking. I prefer to crochet them using semi-wool
yarn. This yarn forms voluminous puff stitches and
dense hdc stitches, the stuffing is not seen in this
case.
For the stem it is better to use a jute or a twine, the
harder the better.

Abbreviations:
hdc - half double crochet stitch
The puff stitches should be crocheted with three
yarn over movements and have one common top
ch- chain
MR - magic ring

Let’s start?
Round 1:
Make ch2 into MR, 10 puff
stitches
Pull the MR closed.
Work sl st into the first st in the
round, make 2 turning ch. Then
finish every round with sl st and
begin with 2 turning ch.
Round 2:
Make 2 puff sts between two
adjacent puff sts. Insert the hook
not under the stitch loops, but into
the space between the puff sts. We
should get 20 puff stitches at the
end of this round.
In this way we should have 10
"spikelets". Make the "spikelets" in
the next rounds in the same way:
crochet 2 puff stitches between
two puff stitches of the previous
round.

Secure the thread, fasten off, leaving a
tail, which is long enough. Stuff the
pumpkin (spread it while stuffing, giving it
the necessary shape).
Thread the needle. Pull the opening closed,
inserting the needle into front loop of
every stitch.
If You can’t pull the opening till the
end, then sew it with several stitches.
Choose several points between the first
and the second rounds. Insert the
needle into the bottom center of the
pumpkin and pull out from the point 1.
Reinsert into the point 2 and pull out
from the bottom center. Pull tightly
until the pumpkin gets the necessary
shape. Insert into the bottom center
and pull out from the point 2, reinsert
into the point 3 and pull out from the
bottom center. Pull tightly. Repeat
these steps with every point. Secure
the thread, fasten off, weave in end
inside of the piece.

This is how the pumpkin should look like
after the needle sculpting. There is a small
indentation, where the stem will be sewn.
Crochet ch15 using the jute.
From the third chain from the hook: 12
hdc, secure the thread, fasten off.
Sew the stem. Our pumpkin is finished!
Thank You for crocheting with me!
